Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
its only a car. move on to another.
We all love RS6's but its still only a feking car. Why risk anything with a car with known faults. I had an M5 which had many faults many very serious so much that BMW bought it back and gave me £1000 compensation. I was scared to drive it. Please m8 walk away from that car. Find another and there will be one. We all know that its hard to walk away when you have your heart set on something but its only a car there are many others around or will be. You know its the right thing to do - there is no loss of face or anything by walking away - its only a car.

Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
I don't get it the spec of the car is pretty standard so that can't be an overriding factor in wishing to pursue it. Colour and interior again standard so what is the attraction?
I think OP has been offered a deal from the stealer which works for him financially big time and maybe other dealers aren't offering the same numbers hence the attraction.

Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
Agreed. As they paid £52k for it from Audi and have it on the forecourt for £70k, then with all that margin in the car they can afford to chuck money at a deal to get rid, which includes giving a more than generous p/x price for the C6.

stevo55 wrote:After a ton of grief and chasing around I'm finally getting myself into a C7. Selling my C6 has been a proper faff and have frankly been pulling my hair out. It seems that the C6 Saloon suffers from the same issue as the RS7-they don't sell well! Incredible cars, very rare but for some odd reason people shy away from them in favour of an Avant. Lesson learned! Mine goes to Cambridge Audi next week (unless it privately sells but frankly I doubt it considering all the drama I've had trying to sell it) and then am getting into this:
2016 in Panther Black crystal effect with 13k on the clock.
Mahoosive spec and pretty bang on more or less:
Dynamic Pack
21" twin spoke titanium (currently chrome and they're changing that as part of the deal)
Lunar silver interior with rock grey stitching on the seats
Matt brushed aluminium trim
Red brake calipers
Advanced key with hands free boot operation
HUD
Assistance Pack with ACC, pre-sense plus, side and active lane assist
Parking pack advanced with top view
Sports exhaust
Matt aluminium styling package
Panoramic sunroof
Privacy glass
All told £14,185 (according to the price list) worth of options. Connect & a couple of other bits would have been nice but most of the other boxes have been ticked.
May get the chrome wrapped black (same as my C6) as I love the stealth look and the C7 is a much more aggressive front anyway so all black increases that look. The lighter interior I wasn't sure about until I saw it in the flesh and it looks better than I thought. Still may get the aluminium around the MMI and gearstick wrapped black but not sure if that would spoil the look?
Thanks for all the advice and bone questions from myself-all the input and advice on here has been most welcome. I can now give my missus a rest as I've been driving her (and myself) mad by obsessively scanning for sale ads etc. I think most on here have been there!
Cambridge Audi have been good as gold and mega helpful in throwing in some extra bits and pieces. I'm happy with the deal although I wasn't planning on going for such a young or expensive car! The finance actually worked out cheaper due to residuals and if I'd gone for for a pre FL 2014 model the difference was about £50 a month so it was a no brainier really.
All going well should be in the car his time next week.
Will miss my V10 but massively looking forwards to joining the C7 club.
Pics and more details to follow once I get my grubby mitts on her.
So did you buy it or reject it?

Finally got there-incoming C7
In short-yes I bought it. I can already hear the taunts from here and while I shouldn't have to defend my decision I think I've come in for a fair amount of stick on here that's not really deserved.
If I'd have taken what's been written about my car at face value then the only thing it hasn't been afflicted with is demonic possession!
We've had 'death trap' bandied about in here and other threads and how I should run away very fast from buying it. So as I said before -I went digging. I don't think I've ever done as much due diligence on any car I wanted to own before. I have spoken to multiple Audi Dealers (totally unconnected with Cambs Audi), independent specialists including former Audi Master Technicians in RS +++ All said the same thing: 'take the car'. I was given the full history and warranty work carried out on the car and also spoke to Zebede the former owner. I also shared that history with others and none flagged up anything that would cause any concern. Whatever issues the car may/may not have had would seem to be all sorted now. Cambridge Audi have been more than fair to me and we have an agreement that should anything serious flag up then the car will go back to them. I've got zero complaints about how they've treated me.
Could it be a lemon? Same as any car yes it could but I feel it's worth seeing first. Only had it a few days and it's an epic car as expected and (no surprise to me at least) zero issues. IF and I say IF the previous stated gremlins come back then I'm big and ugly enough to admit on here that I made a bad call. Until then I ask that you respect my decision. It's my money after all!
As always I really appreciate the advice on here, plus those that took an impartial view. It's a very different car to my old C6 RS6 and I'm still getting used to it.

Thanks mate I love the banter as much as anyone but being called a 'nutter' etc by some on here I felt was going a bit far especially after all the fact finding I was doing in the background.
Absolutely love the car! So much more nimble than the C6 and so different in most ways I'm trying to get my head around it.

With respect mate, I hope you got a cracking deal, with 60+ cars for sale in the U.K. I don't know why anyone would have sunk a years wage in this lemon.

Oh gee I dunno, maybe.....because after doing a lot of background work it may not be a lemon at all?gilford wrote:With respect mate, I hope you got a cracking deal, with 60+ cars for sale in the U.K. I don't know why anyone would have sunk a years wage in this lemon.
Or maybe I just thought I'll get myself into a confirmed 'death trap' and put myself and my family at risk just for sh1ts and giggs....
What do you think?

Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
Stevo as RTD said. Some of us were genuinely only thinking about helping you and only going by what "assumed" knowledge we had about the car. But it sounds like you have been very thorough with your own investigation into the background and at the end of the day if you are happy with your purchase, do as you are doing and enjoy it mate. They are fantastic cars!

Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
A year's wages?? Much as I love cars, anyone who spends that on a RS6 has eyes bigger than their wallet, or got their priorities wrong.
Finally got there-incoming C7
Wow, I didn't see that coming.
I have to say the only way I'd have countenanced a car with this history is an external audit by a body NOT connected with Audi in any way. Audi folk are, largely going to support their product, and cynically see you as a future customer.
It's an interesting debate and clearly you must have seen enough to go with it.
I hope that doesn't bite when you come to sell down the line.
Enjoy the driving.

Re: Finally got there-incoming C7
Sorry steveo, I typed that in haste after a few drinks last night and it came across a bit twatty, I'm sure (and hope) you have done you due diligence on this one. I was just a bit confused as to why you would choose a car with so many known problems when there are so many available, it's not like it is a rare colour or high spec.stevo55 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2017 11:35 pmOh gee I dunno, maybe.....because after doing a lot of background work it may not be a lemon at all?gilford wrote:With respect mate, I hope you got a cracking deal, with 60+ cars for sale in the U.K. I don't know why anyone would have sunk a years wage in this lemon.
