Insurance
Re: Insurance
Insurance is also very area dependant.
My RS6 insurance was £1300, required a tracker and I was 45 at the time with 15 years plus NCD (or the maximum you can have), one No Fault accident in 2012 cost £500.
I live in London and the car was parked in a secure car park...
Gilford, you got a bargain with your insurance!!!
Cheers

Re: Insurance
Try pace ward - they weren't bad and they do good track day cover as when you need it.
I did mean tracker.. not tracked.

Re: Insurance
No other insurer I had quotes from wnated a tracker but Adrian Flux did. I assume it was due to the value of the car being new at the time.
Re: Insurance
All you guys are lucky mofos. My RS6 was £2300. 11yrs NCB. 49 at the time. 6pnts. Required Tracker and parked on the drive as wouldn't fit in garage. I hate Birmingham. The SQ5 is £1300.

Re: Insurance
Had no trouble with them not that I have claimed but currently with them on my Rs4 till I pick up my Rs6 hopefully Saturday yay
Re: Insurance
Looks like it's Hastings at £540.
Re: Insurance
Read the small print. Nothing like the cover or peace of mind someone like Direct Line or NFU would offer.
Hastings strip their cover back to attract business through price comparison websites. That isn't my opinion - that's fact. DL + NFU couldn't give two f##ks about price comparison websites, that's not their game.

Re: Insurance
DL have their own issues. I think you have to pick your insurer wisely with a more exotic car.

Re: Insurance
NFU has my vote and business as well. Saying that DL paid out full purchase price of a 911tt I wrote off 13 years ago got my moneys worth on insurance and will be quids for about 60 years !

Re: Insurance
Albeit on a different vehicle, i'm now with NFU Mutual & can't rate them highly enough, although not from a claim perspective.superlightr wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2017 9:10 amNFU has my vote and business as well. You get to talk to a real human being in the UK who actually understands what car insurance is. In my case they did come out the cheapest as the Comp sites really don't like the FFRR & it's value so that left me needing to call recommendations. A couple of key points are they don't care about the mileage split between Class 1 business & personal, but more important they provide new for old cover for 2 years (albeit the 2nd year's only relevant if you renew), so that's 2 years sudo GAP Insurance included for free, up to the replacement value of the car which in this case is just shy of £100k. Checking out the costs for that appears to save a good £250-300 by my reckoning.

Re: Insurance
And no Tracker. Agree - the best by miles, particularly when you claim. We will not quibble.W8PMC wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2017 9:40 amAlbeit on a different vehicle, i'm now with NFU Mutual & can't rate them highly enough, although not from a claim perspective.superlightr wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2017 9:10 amNFU has my vote and business as well. Re: Insurance
Getting quotes of circa £550 from Admiral & Direct Line, benefits of living in a village out in the wilds of Lincolnshire - and being over 50. Not garaged and in an open car park during work. £250 excess.
I'll defo give NFU a call though.

Re: Insurance
Those are two insurers I'd avoid though.
