Fuel Injector leak off pipes

can anyone enlighten me as to what these are
as my wife SQ5 went in for a service today and it was flagged that there was a fuel leak in the engine
and on investigation it was found to be the above pipes the issue and they are corroding from the inside which is worrying
the car is 2014 with 32k on the clock anyone heard of this issue on he newer 3 lrt TDI engines
i have seen some info on the older 2.5 tdi and it seems it was a common fault on them to leak but no one mentions corroding as the issue
