Wheel refurb colour choice

Post by simors6 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 2:27 pm

After much deliberation (or more likes a couple of close scuffs) I am about to refurb my alloys on Brutus (my wife has name the RS that after a blast in her.

Anyway, wasn't sure on weather to keep them as is or bring them closure to the colour of the body.

Had anyone got the same colour combo as mine out sure (I'm sure there is).

That's a good look for yours. Titanium looks good, too, but with dechrome. I personally would get them done as they are now. Make sure you get the right silver, though. Lots of people just trust the paint Shop and get that generic dullish silver rather than the bright, slightly blueish silver that the original RS6 wheels come with.

Hard to tell from your photo whether yours are that colour or not.

Your car is the same colour as mine and looks great on standard wheels. Mine was on body coloured wheels which have been sprayed over now in the original silver. The contrast between the two colours looks far better trust me, look at my picture on my new members thread. Before the wheels just blend into the bodywork but in silver they stand out and set the car off. Mine need a proper refurb which I will get done later this year in the factory silver.

Body coloured wheels rarely look good imo. The above looks good. It's reminded me how much the oem wheels suit the car too.

These are how mine are at the moment. Although I'm changing to a shade or two lighter this week when the new boots arrive
