BLOODY WHEELS
BLOODY WHEELS
Oh well, my wheels didn't turn up yesterday, i wasn't best pleased as i waited in all day for them.
I contacted the supplier and lets just say i lost it with their attitude and i have now been promised them for Thursday morning and i got £100 refund which i guess is better than a kick in the b0££ocks
i decided on 3DSM 0.01 wheels with 255/20/30. Their is plenty of option out their but not many look good on the rs4, although i appreciate its down to personal choice / taste
anyway lets hope they arrive

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
Hmmm - what offset have you gone for?
Warning you now - there's a chance they won't clear your front brake calipers - at least not without spacing them out to the point where tyres start rubbing arches. I'd test fit one and check very carefully.

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
WHAT A NIGHTMARE DAY.
so the wheels arrive, i go to my local garage sixonetwo (great lads) and that's when the fun started, firstly the front wheels would not fit ? they hit the brakes, in order to miss the brakes it would have required 20mm spacers, this obviously pushed the tyre out too far from the arch, then we check the rims, remembering that i ordered 8.5j 255/30/20 tyres which i checked on arrival so thought all was good
HELL NO, they only gave me 10j rims WTF
15mm spacers were possible but just and only just clipped the brakes, so i was happy along with the garage to slightly file down the calipers just by 3mm on the very edge then add some black paint so you would never know. Dont worry it was done neat and tidy.
So after all that the wheels finally went on BUT only after having to remove all the tyres again as the tyre sensor valves had to be removed from my original wheels and added to the new ones as the wheel Shop didn't think to tell me they wouldn't come fitted so £250 lighter in the pocket just to fit the bloody wheels.
they do fill the arches nicely, and the rim is only just either flush or slightly out from the arch but as they slightly stretched the tyre then i have had no issue with rubbing or anything but of course if this does happen i will get the arches rolled.
What a day

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
I was going to say ''why didn't you use a proper wheel place to buy them from'', but I did and they were still useless. Why didn't you refuse them? Just have the money back if they are 10j instead of 8.5j?

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
On the flip side, well done for getting them on - the concave on 20x10 must look immense! Let's see pics!
Were the spacers hubcentric? If not, I'd get them swapped out ASAP. Non hubcentric wheel spacers = wheel vibration at speed.
I had an almost exact same style wheel in 19x9.5

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
I see your point but let me explain and then you will know why i didn't send them back
list of cock ups:
1. ordered wheels and promised within 48hrs, this never happened and i waited in all day for them
2. i was then told they would be sent straight out, but they were sent to the wrong address ? i got a good will gesture in return
3. booked the car in to have them fitted and the car height adjusted but then all the problems started as listed above
now i have a very short temper, i had been pissed around, its cost me even more money so at the end of the day i couldn't be assed with re packing the wheels and waiting in for couriers ect ect so i thought <beep> it just get them on the bloody car
i do need to now get the arches rolled but only slightly as it only rubs on speed humps so its not all that bad but i will get this done as emp insures agaist damage to paint work just incase anything happens.

Re: BLOODY WHEELS
^Seconded.
Is the tyre rubbing on the arch liner? Might not be necessary to get the arches rolled.
