Wanted: B8 S4 - Sports Diff, Manual, Saloon

Post by D_Shift » Sun Mar 12, 2017 12:06 pm

Hi Guys

I am looking for a B8 S4 saloon with sports diff in 6 Speed manual.

I know they are hard to come by so I am flexible on colour and mileage.

Would be Ideal if it came with the super sports seats and Bang & Olufsen sound system, but not necessary.

I'm based in Leicester, but I am willing to travel anywhere in UK

PM or email- cj.henry@hotmail.com

Thanks guys.

If you haven't driven both the S-Tronic and manual I would highly suggest doing so as you may have a change of heart as to your choice of transmission as the S-Tronic really suits the nature of the S4. If you are open to a auto I'm selling my B8 S4 saloon just now which has the Sports Diff, Super Sports Seats, B&O plus an MRC stage 2 tune :-)

Sounds very tempting, I've just seen your pics and the car looks good, did you upgrade the clutch when the tune was done?
I've never driven an S-tronic before but so far I've been set on having a manual as I enjoy the extra driver enrolment and really want to master the art of perfect rev matching.
Plus i'm also a bit concerned on the reliability of S-tronic gearboxes, especially as I plan to keep the car for a few years.

No there has been no upgrades made to the clutch at time of tune.

I come from having manual, tuned Subarus and an Evo and the driver involvement with extreme cars like that match well with a manual box. The B8 S4 is more of a sports saloon than rallycar run off and I personally found the S-Tronic a far better match for the S4, super quick changes with option of flappy paddle if you are on a back round blast yet smooth and relaxing if your just cruising.

Reliability wise I had my last B8 S4 MRC stage 2 tuned and had no issues with that (about a year and a half running that with tune before I sold it on) and I 've had my current one tuned for 2 years and never had any issues. Admittedly my cars don't have a hard life as I don't do track days or regular hard launches (bar one trip to Crail in my last one) so I cannot speak from experience if you plan to do this.

I have a manual but alas no sport diff Love it with the uprated clutch and power. That extra of having to change gear is built in I think.
