I had all 4 shocks replaced under warranty and it's made no difference, if anything the knocking seems worse! Good info, I will be booking it back in.

Gorun01, just to be clear, which bushes were replaced? Also, which dealer was this at?
Dealer is in Eastern Europe so no use to you. Forgot to ask about which bushes but I presume the ones on the shocks not the control arm ones. Will ask the serviceman tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks, would be very useful to be armed with the correct info before confronting the stealer!

Just checked. They changed the bushes on the lower control arms ("the crooked ones" to quote the guy).

Sorry to ask daft question (I am not familiar with my car's suspension set up) but is that front and rear control arm bushes?

These are exactly the same symptoms as mine. Mines booked in with Audi again in a couple of weeks. Will let you know what they come up with.

Gorun01, are you still happy the problem has been solved?

Well, mine has been back in for second service and dealer has now ordered 2 new DRC central valve units. They are on back order (presumably as lots of RS6 owners are having them fitted). My dealer had not heard of the bush fix and, on looking at the DRC system, I must admit I cant see how control arm bushes would help in my case.

Edited to add: however my recurrent rattling after fitting the modified dampers was coming from the rear, rather than the front.

So, apparently nothing wrong with control arm bushes, but did find the driver side front engine mount to be broken/burst. Now been replaced and seems to have done the trick, but won't hold my breath until i have tested a bit more....

Tested further today, broken engine mount definitely cause of my knocking.
