No it's definitely not a London thing. In one of the videos it looked like there was a big crowd for an event something like Mod Ball Rally I guess so I thought maybe they were there to see a load of cars doing this sort of thing. But then I saw the other videos and it looks like he just drives around revving in traffic all the time. Probably encouraged by the high number of tourists with their cameras / phones out.

Sad. The thing I love about the RS6 is the brooding presence and potential - like the big sinister looking bloke minding his own business supping a pint in the corner.
Loud exhausts, slammed suspension and aftermarket wheels turn the car into Napoleon - the loud short bloke with a chip on his shoulder jumping up at down at the bar. Annoying.

And you have to slip it into neutral in order to blip the throttle whilst stationary, so extra effort is required in order to sound like a <beep>.
