Not difficult though, I produce more torque masturbating than a B8 RS.

Initial thoughts on the RS5...

Apparently nobody has the ability to take decent pics of it. All I've seen so far are from odd angles. I'm not a fan of the new shape yet (but it may still grow on me) and anyone that has used the door handles on the new A4 will know how awful that design is!

The stats aren't impressive when compared to the competition (that's all 2-3 years old...) and soundtrack is yet to be released...so currently i'm a no...

All that said...does this open the door for an RS4+ or Performance Edition? bring the 0-60 in line with the RS6 non PE, sports exhaust as standard, sweet wheel's and some other bits and pieces? it's the route that BMW and Merc have gone. C63/C63s etc...

also, is this the engine that the R8 is getting next too? again, the soundtrack needs to be on point if it is going to work...

that's my thoughts on it for now...not that anyone asked...

I've never seen a B8 spank one off though, so I'd imagine you would...

Only over 4krpm though. The torque thing is only an issue if you have the same rev bands and never change down. Maybe good it has more torque as it has a slush box

Huh? The RS4 and 5 have previously had similar performance times so i'd expect the new RS4 to also do 0-62 in 3.9 i.e. RS6 non PE.
We haven't even seen normal version yet and you are talking about a quicker plus version!

I don't think it'll be that quick, a bit more torque but a slightly lazier gearbox. What's the S4 doing?

I've done a 4.1 in my B8 in the damp. Are official figures without launch. Obviously this wont have a proper launch with a slush box

The new RS5 saying 0-62 in 3.9 seconds so I would expect the B9 RS4 would be similar ish

I don't think 450bhp is that impressive devt although appreciate torque is up

I think he is saying in time at least keeping it this 'low' means it is easy to add a PE at a later date by just turning the wick up a bit.

Looking at M3/4/C63 it's a tad piffling.

I assume it's a ZF8 which is not lazy in terms of shifting through the gears to 62mph. I imagine it will be more aggressively mapped than in the S4 too. But 3.9 secs is already quoted for the RS5 so I imagine it is actually quicker than that in real life much like all the forced induction RS cars.
Bang on the acceleration from the Alfa with the same gearbox. The Alfa will have less transmission losses but the Audi will have better grip off the line so I expect similar numbers (although the Alfa had circa 50bhp more).
