If it wasn't so worthless I prob would sell ! if the right Rs6 comes along it'll be gone ! it's my second Rs4 but it's not all that in my opinion ! I love the noise from my capristo and the looks too but it's still an embarrassment to the RS experience they're not that special anymore far too diluted an mainstream now

Did your RS cheat on you with another driver?

I don't get it. 450bhp N/A V8 at 9k rpm with a snappy stronic and clever 4wd sitting in a box arched body with two big oval pipes. It's RS all day long.

From a fellow BMW owner of an M2 (which is as quick or quicker than the M3 or M4 depending on sources) and definitely quicker than a 335d I can confirm that the RS4 feels as quick .... but oh my it sounds so much better!

Forget the tech specs, cars should involk feeling. And the RS4 involked that much feeling that I bought mine there and then last week.

I love it to bits.

Chris.

Not convinced. It's plenty fast enough - push the limits and it's licence losing times.

A mapped oil burner is just a little too 'blue pill' for me.

It's (was) not about being, and being seen as, the fastest car out there. It's the allroad package, the looks and the fact that it will just chew the ground up - whatever the conditions.

Who cares lol

Plenty of sub 10k cars with a few mods can destroy an RS4, so what....

You could always give me first Dibs on your Capristo if you decide to move on.

Personally I love my RS4, but not everyone can feel the same. How fast do you need to go, quicker than 0-100 in 9.5 secs. I know it lacks mid-range torque, but that is where the gearbox helps by wanting to drop down the gears.

It would be a good call to go for an RS6, by I feel it is too big for the roads I drive regular. Enjoy.
2015 RS4- Nogari Blue, with buckets and Milltek
Ariel Atom 4 with carbon Wings😀. But a little bit scary.

I agree, having driven a couple of C7 RS6's it does feel big. I travel through Germany on the A2 on a regular basis and can absolutely see where the car is designed to be. Sadly negotiating my works car park or small Fenland towns where I live isn't it.

It's interesting though as I thought about this thread on my way into work today. I drive an S1 as a daily and overtook an Audi TT on some long sweeping but open bends this morning. When we reached the next straight he suddenly came right up behind me and probably passed me well into 3 digit speeds, disappearing into the distance. Whilst I know both cars are limited to 155 at no point was I bothered or even attempted to "chase". He will of probably told all his mates how he "did" the S1 on the way to work.

The RS4 is one of the first cars I have owned where I don't have to drive fast to go fast (hope that makes sense!), it's reputation does it for me and for the most part I'm happy to keep them wondering!

I get the feeling that most people are right on this particular thread......

we all lover the RS4 for all the good reasons stated above, it's such a great all round package that manages to make the driving experience special and practical ... win .....win

BUT .... I also see the point that the performance point hasn't moved forwards since the first RS4 was introduced. IIRC when it came out it was super car performance and since then the super cars have moved on but not the RS4. In a similar manner the other mainstream cars have caught up, which is disappointing to some (me included).

what makes it even worse is that the RS6 has the powerplant to solve this!!! A de-tuned V8TT from the RS6 would have slotted into the RS4 quite nicely :) ... it's possible, MRC have just proved this. So there is no excuse other than probably the political alignment of the various RS models..... which is frustrating.

just my thoughts......
2006 RS4 Avant - Carbon Clean, Intake Ports Polished, HF Air Filter, MRC Remap
1998 Toyota Supra 3.0 TT - de-cat, bleed valve, UK Spec Brakes, HKS Springs & CW Dampers, Goodridge Lines, Pagid Pads & 360 RWHP
1990 Toyota Supra 3.0 T - de-cat, HKS Boost Controller (1.4 bar max), used as a daily drive for 110k miles on original turbo!
198x Granada 2.8i Ghia X - Can't remember the exact year - but a great car!

The RS4 has enough power. I had a Nissan GTR. It was brutally fast at any speed but it didn't feel like you could use most of it some of the time never mind most of the time. Once the novelty wore off I fell out of love with it

The B8 will be a classic in years to come with the V8 engine. Last of a dying breed. I'm sure the B9 will be great, not sure at what cost. So long as they don't synthesise the engine note through the speakers!

We'll all be driving 400 BHP 1 litre triples in years to come with hybrid KERS and a soundtrack of your choosing

I get most people's opinions I really do and fear the thread veered down a different route as the cars overall appeal general abilities or looks were nothing to do with it ! It wasn't a hoorah to a diesel BMW I would expect the Audi to be better looking better handling and overall better performing with a price difference upward of 25 k and it's also not about keeping people guessing about how quick it is because you don't need to justify yourself ! but that just shouts you don't want to end up in the situation because your ashamed the car cant compete it was merely the fact a mid priced BMW ! Far from there m series could easily keep up in the wet in a straight line in the mid range where u need it the most ! And for a car of this value maybe I just expect too much
