As much as i hate diesel it pains me to say i think your 535d will feel alot quicker than an rs4
My previous car was a 535d remapped and was quick but the gear changes in the crappy slush box slow it down and can't take above 700 nm torque as the torque converters are weak only problem with the rs4 you don't have that instant torque low down compared to the twin turbo 535
You have to drive the na engine hard in high revs to feel the reel power but is a lot quicker then the BMW and unbelievable Road feel handling and steering
Unsure what one you had..but i had the issue on my 05 plate..but my 08 LCi is allot better - and in sports mode its even quicker. I also use the paddle shifts to shift down..allot quicker then the peddle..
1st thing that went was my gearbox..so had this rebuilt...working wonders since.. great car..would love the newer one one day.
my hunt continues..there are plenty 4-5 owners but trying to find a lesser owner car with near 85k and below seems to be pushing closer to £20k.. Plenty near the £15k mark, but did not want to be wasting my time driving around.
These guys have i think 4 for sale, 1 have 80k and 6 owners... this one i think had 4 or 5
however they sounded professional...unlike the 1st dealer i went to..

Yeah I had a 05 pre lci the lci boxes are a bit stronger but still can only take 50 nm more than the pre lci
I do miss the instant boost from a turbo car tbh
The new 335d are very quick similar 0-60 to the rs4 and the xdrive 4 wheel drive makes it a good car but doesn't look good as a rs4

Seat pump can be turned off by the dash menu so don't assume there not working.
really! well the seller did not have a clue..
also why reason why the exhaust note did not change? what else does the S button do?
Also when i revved the car to 3000rpm - i could hear feel some kind of vibration think near 1500rpm - is this normal?
Anyone?

The S button dose seats exhaust valve and makes the throttle pedal more sensitive but you can turn the seats off. If the pump seal is gone providing they have not been switched off (most common reason) you will still feel the pump working but will note the bolsters not closing.
Its quite common for exhaust valves to stick and in most cases some lube (not WD40 only use to free up then use a good lube) and a screwdriver will free them up.
In regards to the engine it should be smooth up to 5k-5.5k when there should be like a boost in acceleration which is a good indication if you need a carbon clean from all accounts.
Any knocking from the suspension could mean DRC knackered so find a uneven surface to test.
Also ask what fuel they use as these cars will run on 95RON but it will tame the power so a couple of tanks of the good stuff will sort that.

I dont know why you want a low owner car; from my experience people tend to neglect their cars the longer they own them, they generally treat news cars (new to them) better so high number owners not necessarily a bad thing.
And again with the carbon, they all suffer from this and unless it has had a clean in the last 6 months then it is probably needs another clean. Aside from losing a 30 or 40 bhp it generally doesn't cause any issues; most issues accounted to carbon are generally fixed when carrying out a carbon clean and taking the lid off and putting it back on (vacuum issues, flaps etc) and not caused by the carbon itself. Unless you intend on cleaning it every 6 months I wouldn't worry a out whether it has had a clean or not.

I bought a c2s that had 5 owners.. the car had been so neglected by the owners..I had spent near £10k just putting the car right..All the issues creapt up slowly...However near the same time and costly repairs..
Same with my 535d..1 owner car has been great for the last 4 year..
Just from personal experience as I have been through many cars..
However temped to go see that blue one with 4 owners little over £17k...there is another but @ £21k..

But does it put a smile on your face..When you do drive it?
I want a low mile car..As I plan to keep it..And will be my 2nd / 3rd car.
When you see a car with 70k on the clock and 6+ owners..Just raises some questions to me anyway...Granted an average person does 10k a year..But you still never know..
My alpina has 177k on the clock..1 owner..And it drives perfect...

6+ owners on a 3 year old car maybe, but they are 10 or 11 year old cars now.

It is not a bad price, but I would say it is only "good condition" but certainly not mint. The advert is very light on detail so I'd be asking a whole lot of questions before even viewing. Wheels look to be quite badly curbed all round, the carpet mats are very tatty....and that engine bay, why bother showing an engine bay like that to sell your car. Having said that, a dealer could probably offer £14-15k for it and get it looking mint and on sale for £17-18k. You just need to have your wits about you and know the key points to look for on a private sale.

Yeah that's far from mint good but other than what's already mentioned the gear knob is worn badly and the steering wheel not far behind and no coming home lights also if I'm not wrong the passenger front seat hoop look like it may be missing. Peddle rubbers worn and by looking at the clocks in the close up it looks like a smokers car and that engine bay looks like it's not seen a serviced in some time to get that dirty and no signs anyone been anywhere need the bay.
Judging how from what you are looking from a car this is not it.

My car has had 7 owners in 10 years which to me doesn't bother me as i know i have a solid and we maintained car. With a car like this alot of people will buy one because they always wanted one etc and then think sh*t this is costing me way more than I thought to run and then sell it on. Also it could just be a case of needing to sell for personal reasons and not that the car is a bad one. I have never let high owners put me off if it has been maintained to a high standard and I thoroughly check it over
