I've not heard this before. Do they make you aware if this before buying? Whilst the loss of cylinder on demand is not a big deal I'd be very annoyed if I wasn't made aware of this beforehand.

No, apparently they can only do it through the ecu and not through the box so there is the problem, it goes against their concept of putting the box to keep the ecu untouched. But at 2000 euros they fix it
Then in my opinion it's a ripoff to pay extra for disabling that cyl, I will check what ABT knows about that.

P.s mtm should program the box correctly not like person needs to pay extra for their bad tune box

How would you expect a tuning box to disable functionality in the ECU? I'm not sure you understand how a tuning box works. To be blunt it's a bodge, a hack, it intercepts and modifies data as it exits the ECU.

Then it's best to do ecu remap and not install tune box, for example pp performance does ecu remap, they even can write code for engine light off that is very common when ppl install cat less downpipes.

Some updates concerning 4 cyl modul:

"because of our advanced development of our engine upgrades and the usage of our AEC control unit, our upgrade is working in a different way than other tunings.

When driving with little throttle, our engine upgrade is not giving extra power.
The extra power is need when driving with more throttle up to full throttle. So under circumstances when all cylinders are working.
As we consider, that you don´t need more power, when driving slow and with small throttle only.
But you want to have better acceleration when overtaking or just want to have fun.
So it makes sense that you then have the increase in power.

Therefore we are not influencing the management of shutting down cylinders or not, as this is outside of our range of performance.

With other tunings that might be a problem, as you constantly have the extra power. No matter how much throttle you are driving."

That's what ABT said.
