RE: First RS4
Hi nbcam I am due to pick an Avus silver RS4 next week so let me know if your impressed with yours.
I have a lovely neighbough who works for AR Racing as a technician who looks after AP Brakes on many different race cars... nice job as he goes round the world with different racing teams.
Knowing that he works for AP I caught up with him to talk to him re brakes for my RS4 and obviously see if he can get a discount.
He has said that AP Racing do a lovely set of huge floating brakes for the RS4 that retail at about £1800 for the fronts and willingly offered to get me a 30% discount!!!!!
I mentioned the MOVIT brakes to him and off he went into brake heaven and told me why AP brakes are so much better. Basically from all the technical jargen he told me I basically understand that the AP brakes are stiffer and offer far more peddle feel and that the MOVIT brakes were v.expensive in comparison.
He has them fitted to his EVO 6 and has said that although he has no amazing tuning gadgets fitted on trackdays what he looses in speed he makes up for with braking into corners.
If you want to have a look round the net for the AP brakes a decide that you would be interested I'll ask him about getting you a set.
All the best

RE: First RS4
WellsyRS4. Thanks for your eagerness, but we have recently put in place a policy that all Group Buys be checked by the Crew. AP Racing are rarely keen to provide discount, and I would make sure that your neighbour can really source multiple kits at the discounted rate. Also, it would be useful to understand who would collect the moneys, and be responsible for delivery.
The statement that AP's are better than Movits is a little bold. There are good and bad experiences with both.
