It was the performance of the film car that led to me buying an RS6.

The seminal moment was pulling onto the M40 with a camera in the boot on a bazooka (a short tripod)with
a cameraman and soundman (wouldn't be allowed now by health and safety).

The 4 actors in the front, with Morty driving for real.

Matthew Vaughn the Director in a follow vehicle and we had a police escort.

The Director asked the actors to do their dialogue and at the end of it Morty
to bury his foot on the throttle. We shot the dialogue at about 80mph in the fast lane,
and when Morty accelerated the RS6 kicked down and propelled us (6 grown men and camera)
to about 120 in what felt like an instant.

I had never felt anything like it despite a background in hot hatches and owned a Subaru Turbo
at the time.

It was that moment that made me instantly decide to buy a RS6.
That is amazing!

Reason I'm asking is I'm a lifelong RS6 fan now writing for ClassicDriver.com and would like to find the car and do a story on it. Maybe even take it back to Stoke Park with some drones...

I've messaged LayerCakeRS6 with no response, so if anyone can help do let me know!

Cheers

I rarely do "club" type things - usually too many boy racers trying to show off - but if there was a bit of a meet up or photo shoot of C5 RS6s focused around the Layer Cake car & film, I'd be quite up for that.

Passed up the opportunity to buy that car in 2006 when it was at an independent dealer somewhere in Surrey, and bought a RS4 instead..

She Sells Sanctuary might have taken residence on the stereo if I'd bought it..

When I bought my Grado RS2is that was the first flac I played. Brought a tear to my eye. It's a shame Ian's voice hasn't aged well, he's lost all that power.

Killing Joke, Love like Blood is another great driving track in a similar vein to She Sells Sanctuary.
