Camberley Motorhouse have the above for sale and looks good value. FSH, looks like it's sitting on coilovers and £800 spent on brakes recently. It's 'leggy' with 175k miles and not sure of state of gearbox/cambelt/turbos/intercoolers etc but any previous owners on here? I only do about 3k miles per year so it would be a nice weekend toy, or is it a potential money pit at that mileage? Any thoughts/advice appreciated. Thanks

Re: RS6 for £6k?!!...bargain or money pit? DA03UZS
ALL c5 RS6's are money pits however you look at them.
the fact its got FSH is in its favour, check if its main dealer or specialist though, if its halfords it don't mean jack !
Mileage is high, but that doesn't mean its knackered. If you can get to see the log book and clock the last owner details that may help you decide ...after contacting them.
Just cause it says £800 spent on brakes, actually check what was done for that money ! That could just be 2 front OEM discs
gearbox is the ultimate decider, if its been a specialist or main dealer history, see if its had any work done to it, or if its been serviced at all. It could cost you £3k+ for a new slush box.
Like anything of an age though, it might seem perfect at the showroom then show signs of its age as you drive it in the first week/month.
it doesn't stand too bad in the pictures to be fair.

Mileage is only an issue at resale. Go see it and drive it. If it's straight then it could be a good car.

How much did you sell for?
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: RS6 for £6k?!!...bargain or money pit? DA03UZS
£4500. The guy was keen to move the M5 and felt he could move the RS6 on quickly. I bought it January 2010 on 74k miles.

Have you ever used the indicator on your F10?
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: RS6 for £6k?!!...bargain or money pit? DA03UZS
I use them all the time, trying to buck the trend. I'm guessing the car has been sold as it's no longer on their website. May be the OP bought it in the end.
