New weekend toy

Post by HYFR » Sun Feb 05, 2017 3:53 pm

After selling the F-TYPE I've been missing a 2 seater weekend toy

Yes the B7 is a great car, but it doesn't draw me to get up early on a Sunday and go for a blast...it just feels like I'm junking around a load of metal I don't need.

So decided this fits the bill.

They are going up in price now, with there only being c.600 in the U.K left, even less with the Pole Positions and <100k miles.

I sold one 5yrs ago for the same money I bought this, and the guy I bought it from paid about £1k less 2yrs ago, than I paid him.

Will get very little use, but have a full track day book at the Nurburgring April 11th with circuit Days so it'll get a proper shake down there.

I like them, so much so I have one too.
What mileage and history does it have?
Was it advertised recently as I tend to keep an eye on what's about.
Here's mine!

Lovely.

I was looking for 1 month and very little on the market

I was originally going to pay top money for a low mileage low owner car, but went for a TT Forum car for less.

It's done 80k but in superb condition.

Mapped to 260PS, but super quick on a B road and great fun!!

I'm getting the steering wheel retrimmed by Royal Steering Wheels.

Then in March will fit some Ferodo DS2500 pads, high performance brake fluid, oil service and wheel alignment and it should be good for the Ring.

Tempted to get the wheel done in Titan as not a fan of the black.

Will get it fully detailed and paint corrected also.

yeah, I like Audi's of this era ... modern ones don't do it for me

This was the car Quattro GmbH made before the B7, so they had some good people there at the time, and obviously they made the R8 right after the B7 ...

Literally just been out for a 20 min drive around the country lanes where I live, its truly great little fun

Drives very old school, the gearing is such you need to use the box a lot to stay in boost, so its lots of fun

I wondered if it was a TT forum car, I sort of recognised it.
I was looking for 2-3 months to find that one, only done 29k miles.
It is my motorbike replacement! So only comes out on nice days.

There is a crazy 29k car on pistonheads running 400bhp and a sequential box!! Ruined !

I think I saw that, if it is the one, no surprises why it has been on sale for ages!

Had one of these in exactly the same colour a few years ago. Loved the looks but hated the way it drove and ended up selling it after 3 weeks. One of the most underwhelming cars I've ever owned. As a track car it they need a pile of money spending on them to get them to turn, stop and perform. I was told by one of the top tt tuners that 265 was all you could get from the standard engine without an expensive turbo swap.

Must admit, I'm struggling with this one DK. Would a Megane R26 be a better car for the money?
