Re: 16k - Oil Change
Strange. Guess i should phone up to get it booked in then? At about 11k i got a message to say oil was low, so topped it up, but had nothing about a service.

Re: 16k - Oil Change
Depends on whether your car is set up for long life or normal servicing. Many people on here - myself included - believe a 550 bhp twin turbo V8 warrants an oil change regularly and that long life servicing is best suited to less performance orientated cars. I know if I was buying used which I would prefer. But Audi seem happy that either is fine.
Re: 16k - Oil Change
Shouldn't these cars be serviced every 12 months regardless of whether you're on a fixed or variable cycle?
If you are doing 10k+ miles per annum you should be on a variable where I suspect you hit the mileage quota and then vice versa if you only do 5k miles per annum you should be setup on a fixed so it's done at 12 months?
I may be talking bo*locks but I hadn't even done 5k miles before my first oil service was due as it was the time element that caught me, not the mileage element.
Does anyone have the servicing/owners manual to hand?
The original poster mentions that his MOT is due in the next couple of months? Surely, its had a service before that? MOT's are required at 3yrs

Re: 16k - Oil Change
I think it's 12 months or 10k, or 2 yrs and up to 20k depending on which package.
Re: 16k - Oil Change
But Leo is right, sounds like OP is going for first oil change 2 months before his MOT is due.
Re: 16k - Oil Change
When oil change is required do dealer does something more for example he can rewrite cars software or they don't do if you don't ask? Maybe best then to tell or they don't do anything else if u don't ask?
Re: 16k - Oil Change
No, they don't touch the software other than resetting servicing interval.Tadass910 wrote:When oil change is required do dealer does something more for example he can rewrite cars software or they don't do if you don't ask? Maybe best then to tell or they don't do anything else if u don't ask?

Unless there is a software update due on your car.

Indeed, I had a recall item applied in Oct when in for service.MikeFish wrote:Unless there is a software update due on your car.
