PE Options, wobble...

Post by Marcus_RS4 » Thu Dec 29, 2016 7:33 pm

Not so long now until mine begins "build" - 30th Jan - and I have not seen many cars with the Alcantara centres. I love it, but am interested in what others feel, am I alone in this thinking?

I should add, I like it so much, I have gone for the Alcantara headlining also :)

I have the alcantara, I wouldn't even consider a C7 with leather now; it just looks so plain (sorry leather owners). To me it looks that much more special.

Looks OK, better in the heat, but it does wear and I'd wager it is less preferable for resale if that matters. Personally it's not something I'd chose.

I have a PE but selected the standard (not blue lined) alcantara and carbon.
It has worn well so far, no marks after 10,000 miles.
Really like it.

I had alcantara inserts and headlining on my C6, really tied the interior altogether. I really miss it!

Not the same model, but that had no wear after nearly 80k

The facelift C7 has alcantara trim even if you spec full leather interior so picking the alcantara seats makes sense to me and ties in with the rest of the interior.
Done 11k in mine and still looks new, in fact the only bits of the interior that don't look brand new anymore are the leather parts.

Yep, for me the alcantara gives it that performance car feel and the blue stitching is really nice on the PE. People jump into the car and always comment on how nice it is inside.

Imagine the alcantara headlining is a nice touch, but given i have the sunroof it seemed a bit of a waste given it takes up most of the roof!

I personally hate leather; cold in winter and sweaty in the summer, and after a few years old it resembles a a minicab with spaceship mileage.

Thanks all, nerves settled. What is making it harder is I am doing this blind, having not even seen a PE before. The other half thinks I am crazy :drink:

I'd never seen one either when I ordered. Had to gamble on seats, blue carbon trim, wheels and titan trim. Glad I didn't get the blue carbon and made the right choice with wheels and seats but wish I'd got carbon instead of titan for exterior trim.

I took the same gamble when I ordered my PE. I went with the Alcantara with blue stitching and so glad that I did. My old S6 had the full quilted leather and had to go with something different so it felt like it was a different car and the Alcantara centres are so much better.
I also went with the Carbon with the blue weave, subtle but sufficiently different from the standard carbon the S6/RS6 has as standard.

I removed alcantara seats as prefer leather. But took headlining which gives car a very premium feel
