Car feels slower after dealer visit

Post by HDPete » Fri Dec 09, 2016 10:10 am

My C7 PE went in to get a very small weep on the back box sorted under warranty recently. Somehow, it feels quite a bit slower.. it still pops and crackles when I lift off in dynamic, but it doesn't seem to do so quite as much.

It could, of course, be that I'm taming he beast and getting used to it. But is there anything they could have done like 'updated' the software to a non-PE edition or put the wrong exhaust on?

So before commenting I should state that I do not own an RS6 however i plan to shortly hence why I am howevering around here...

First thing I would check for is that there are no residual leaks and that everything has been connected back together..I dont know how the exhaust valves work on the RS6 but on my m5 if you did not connect the pipes that controlled the exhaust valves you would have an immediate loss of power and it wouldnt surprise me if the exhaust on the RS6 works the same as on my m5

They can't flash the wrong software and go back to non-PE. It is not a human decision to flash cars, the computer manages that.

I suspect you are just getting used to it. I think that, like all of us, we are blown away by the car when we first get it and then settle down to wanting just a little more oomph. I expect that by year 3 you will be wondering why I bought such a slow old barge.

And, frankly, I cannot imagine the difference between the two versions is discernible. Need to upgrade...nice F12 perhaps?

They valves on the C7 are electric so not connected to the engine vacuum like the B7, 8P etc.
