DBA Brakes
Sometimes if you follow the order process through on the website it will tell you how much the postage costs will be before you confirm the transaction. The tantrumwerks site doesn't but the ECS site does - according to ECS UPS Express for a pair of brake discs is $181.60. Assuming you are fortunate and don't get hit for any customs duty & VAT this would
(181.60 + 290)/1.8047 = £261.32 for a pair of DBA4000 discs
Whether you get hit for customs duty & VAT seems to be a bit of a lottery sometimes - I've been fortunate on one occasion and not the second time.
Customs duty (averages 5 - 9%) and VAT (17.5%) and these apply to the cost including postage. Assuming 5% for the customs duty the cost becomes £322.40 not including an administration fee. I haven't included the working but see http://www.dhl.co.uk/info/duty.html for info

To answer Alan's previous thread about payment. I haven't organised or participated in any group buys before but I would assume that everybody sends Wallace Performance a cheque or phones them direct and makes payment by credit card. Does this seem OK to everybody?

OK so what Iain is saying is that if you are lucky you will probably get disks from the USA for about the same as you would pay in the UK, a bit cheaper if you are really lucky and more if you are not.
As I said before Wallace Performance (Norman) quoted me £128.66 each with a 3 week delivery for the 4000S slotted disks - so that is £257.32 a pair incl VAT bit excl delivery.
I have already placed my order with Wallace as I need disks ASAP to get my car sorted in time for my holiday.
Advice on pads is to go for Pagid Fast Road - I was quoted about £120 for fronts from Star Performance near Kirkcaldy in Scotland. Is this good or does anyone know of a better price, also how much for rears?

Guys
Apparently my order with Wallace was not placed as I thought so they have advised today that they will check prices including shipping costs and get back to me - still looking like 3 weeks!
Time is marching on for me so I am also looking into the option of buying from the USA and take the gamble on duty and VAT charges.
Are you all just considering fronts or are you thinking rears too - I may do rears as well whilst I am at it as they are the original ones from new on my car and have not been changed, wear similar to front.

I don't think Silverfish performance are in business anymore. Their site was a fairly easy internet search before (more than a year ago) but I couldn't find it at all when I went looking more recently. I did find some other UK sellers of DBA discs but they were Subaru specialists and only stocked discs for imprezas. Eventually contacted DBA in Australia to find the UK importer and was given the details for Wallace.
I ordered my discs a week ago and was told that it would be about 4 weeks. I think the discs are shipped over in regular shipments rather than as single sets and I had just missed the last one so my order would wait for the next shipment.
If your desperate for discs you may want to consider the Black Diamond discs that Buzzard went for earlier in this post or other alternatives such as Brembo/Tarox etc discs. Try

Neither seem to have them listed but it might be worth phoning them up or contact Buzzard to see where he got his.

The group buy did not proceed to my knowledge.
I had to bow out due to a pending trip to France with my car mid July so put on OEM disks from Vagparts and Pagid Fast Road pads from StarPerfromance all round - could not get hold of the DBA quickly enough, even tried an import option from USA but was not really any cheaper in the end due to the high carrage cost which were down to the weight. Had to sot things out before I went as I had no pad left and very thin disks.
I am quite happy with the set up now but have not yet been back to the track.
