I read that they just clip off. I had a look in the workshop manual and thats what it looked like. The old trims were cheap but rivetted on / bonded into rear quarter windows, but it looks like they new ones are easy to change but expensive to buy.

Ok great. Still have to remove the rear quarter window though right?

Doesn't look like it. Just says pull trim strip out of clips. The door trims look like you need to remove a bit if trim but the roof strip just need a trim removal tool to wedge in to start off.

Elsawin the VAG workshop manual. Mine is an old version, only goes up to 2013 but that just about catches the first of the C7 RS6s.
