Part of that cost will be about £190 in oil. Get your own oil for about £70-80 so will save about £110. It ain't a lot I know but it makes me feel a bit better. I don't like getting bummed.

I presume you are going to Stratford so yes it won't be a problem. Just tell the service guys on booking in and when you get there.

My last service was on the Q7 and I gave up them Castrol Edge from ECP which cost me £68 for 8 litres. I had a spare can at home for top ups already and Audi left what wasn't used in the boot.

I use Castrol Edge. Bought a load last week for the RS3 and RS4 from site Sponsor opie oils. Very good price I thought. Seem to recall about £60 per car (but they use quite a different amount)

Oh and as long as the oil conforms to the right VW standard (something like 502 or 504?) it should be OK from their point of view.

It must conform to VW 504.00 - 507.00 for our cars. 5/30w fully synthetic. If you Shop around between services, the recommended Castrol Edge can be bought at reasonable prices. In fact Audi use this in all models in the workshops, unless a cheaper oil is specfically requested, then they will probably use Quantum oil. However if they havent got it in stock, you may end up getting Castrol Edge anyway and paying Quantum prices...
I personally however wouldn't take that chance...I'd use the Castrol Edge. I've got a 5 year warranty on my car, and wouldn't like any reason being available to dishonour it just in case there was any major engine issues in that warranty period. Maybe being over cautious, but for the sake of saving a few quid.....

My 1st oil service including front dif oil was at about 20k and I was quoted £450 but when I collected the car they reduced that by £120. I just had the 1st big service for my RS at 36k miles and this includes engine service and all other oils (f &r diff, g/box, sports diff and PS) changed and a pollen filter, £1100 all in, I have heard of others being charged a lot more, my dealer even bought me lunch and gave me a courtesy car (they do that anyway).
