Wise choice - Its the ultimate practical super car. With an almost endless list of mod options for tailored power and handling. eg For £1K you can have 420bhp but with similar ftlb torque - There is nothing out there with that kind of torque and handling that you can chuck a pile luggage in the boot Bikes/surf board on the roof rack.

On wheels there was a long saga which ended with Audi offering owners two choices: replacement "hard" wheels (one set), or free replacement of the "soft" wheels for the lifetime of the vehicle. If the previous owner went for soft wheels, you are looking for an insert in the back of the warranty booklet that comes with the car, which sets out the details of the lifetime warranty.

Is this also in other country's then the UK? What about buying a car in Germany. And how can you claim warranty if you buy the car used from someone????

I also had an S2000 before the RS4 and only really miss the convertible on summer evenings. The performance is in a different league, engine is so tractable compared to top end nature of S2K. If you enjoy driving your cars like you stole them the M3 could be more fun, it is better balanced than the Audi and requires the driver to learn how it gives its performance rather than be awesomely quick immediately. I didn't buy the M3 as their value was about to fall off a cliff, everyone seems to have one or tart up a 318 to look one and much prefered the Recaro chairs in the Audi.
My RS4 was immediately fitted with a UUC quickshift as the S2000 was way superior in this respect. The brakes as standard don't induce the same confidence as the Honda but have never let me down, but the biggest gain in my experience was the suspension. I have the H&R coilovers and adjustable dampers fitted with revised alignment, also re-aligned S2K and what a difference that made, which had given the car far better dynamics.
Enjoy whichever you choose both cars are excellent.

I bought my RS4 18 months ago as a repalcement for an S4, my only regret is not having done it sooner. I load the RS4 up with scuba kit for two people (it would take more) quite happily - just got a load liner in the boot space so the wet stuff doesn't harm the carpets etc.

I am amazed by the number of people that come up to me in a filling station and talk to me about the car.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the RS4.

I have had an E36 M3 evo which was the same performance as the E46 (despite what the reports say).

I now have an S4 (not RS4) and have no intention of changing to an RS4 but comparing the two is like....how do I say.....the M3 is the drug dealers car, the RS4 is the drug dealers lawyers car?

The Audi's is so much more useable and much less stealable (reflected in insurance). The M3 looks aggressive whereas the Audi's look much more sublte and a lot more capable. JK says the RS4 is his favourite car bar none - and you know what he is like with his motors.......

Damn, that's bad news.... Are you sure??? In the movie of the RS4 customer day, the Audi guy talks about a "worldwide good will policy"....

How come this policy would only be in the UK, sounds strange....

The video was made by Audi UK for UK customers, but is an issue may take up with your local dealer, it is possible that other countries adopted a similar stance, I believe Audi AG did something similar, as did Audi CH(Switzerland)
