RS4 B8 tune

Post by Champ07 » Fri Oct 07, 2016 8:44 pm

Anybody got any experience/recommendation? Is it worth the bucks?

What I would also be interested in is the stock horses you guys measured; I would expect the B8 to scatter less than the B7?

About 4bhp and 7ftlbs of torque wasn't worth invalidating the warranty for with APR.

Not had mine rolling road tested but it certainly shows the B7 a clean pair of heels by a good margin. I've put it down to the gearbox though.

I live 30 mins from sportec.ch (one of the most famous tuner here in Switzerland) they claim to boost performance to 470 horses though the question is how much the stock performance really is? Is it really 450 i.e. what Audi claims, or rather only around 430? Given the latter, the tune would obviously result in genuine 450 rather than 470 bhp...

Any views on stock performance?

I'd be intrigued to know just how the heck they get 470 out of the V8 lump....... I'd say their claims are somewhat ambitious at best. How many of your Swiss Francs do they want for the pleasure?

Stock is always going to be be sub the 455 claimed, I think 430 is more realistic as an average for B8 ownership. But then the felt difference between 430, 455 & 470 is going to be minimal anyway......
It's all torque talk.

You can have a look here: http://www.sportec.ch/page9447.html

They charge CHF 2'662.-- ...what a rip-off.

I actually talked to that guy and he was saying there's no way a B8 could reach 470 horses given that the stock performance is around 400 rather than 450.

The software tweak will result in roughly 20 extra bhp...

So (with my rather poor grasp of german) a remap and a change of airfilter & they can achieve 470bhp & .2 secs of the 0-100kph time. All for 2,662.00 CHF.....

BARGAIN!!!!

I've had both my B8's rolling roaded at 246 days, and both made pretty much the claimed 444ps (the second one made circa 425, but the RR guy said that Winter tyres will rob around 15-20bhp)
I can't see them getting another genuine 30bhp out of that engine without some serious internal, mechanical changes

Just to confirm, its 450ps or 444 bhp.

The 470, is this ps or BHP? either way it seems like a tall claim without an induction kit and exhaust. THere are tuners here in the UK that will give a small increase circa 7bhp but they are doing more work with the torque figure rather than power as the B8.5 V8 lacks torque from the factory.
