Oil on spark plugs
Oil on spark plugs
I've just changed my spark plugs, drivers side were ok but the passenger side had oil on each one. What would cause this? Gasket failure on the rocker cover?

Re: Oil on spark plugs
Obviously you mean there was oil on the outside of the plugs and not on the electrode part thats inside the combustion chamber?
If its the first time youve seen this, then it could easily be some residual WD40 if the previous person has given it all a spray before popping the coul packs back on.
It would be strange for them all to be 'wet' on one bank, because the coil pack has a rubber gland that seals each one in the cover hole.
I wouldnt worry unless the whole tube that the spark plug is in was level with engine oil.

Yes that's right, it was in the outside. I changed the plugs previously and there wasn't anything like this before.
