Boot Sil Protector

Post by Iain » Sun Oct 09, 2016 11:11 am

Morning All

Noticed where I've been taking stuff out of the boot, the paintwork has started to mark with the odd scratch; is there a product out there I can use to protect it, once I've had it painted. :bigwave:

You can usually buy a boot liner with a fold-out flap to cover the sill. Not sure who exactly does one for the C7 though.

I have such a part from Audi.

It has sides too that you can fold "up"....rear flap folds down over bumper.

Just sits on top on boot carpet and is easily removed if required.

I just leave mine in situ all the time...just folding down fall for when my pooch jumps in and out.

I had the top part of the bumper protected with a strip of paint protection film. Was about £20 and means I down have to worry about scratching it anymore or remember to get the boot protector out.

Golf clubs vs PPF isn't a good contest. Extra carpet is the way forward.

The PPF is quite thick and strong. It can withstand pressure washers. You'd have to be really trying to damage it with a golf club, more chance of a dent than a scratch. Clearly a bit of carpet will protect better against dents but for a permanently fitted scratch protector you can't go wrong with a bit of PPF, and for £20 I'd have it fitted for 24/7 protection and then use a bit of carpet if your still worried when there is extra risk.
