Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective), I just missed out on the matt one. Likely saved me some bother, so all in all probably a good thing.

The search continues, but there doesn't seem to be too much about at the moment. Everything seems to have some kind of concession. Currently looking at a nice one, but it doesn't have the pano sunroof and has comfort seats (which I really don't see the point of) and one that has everything, but not the sports exahaust, etc. Think I am just going to have to be grown up about it and be patient... which I struggle with (especially when buying cars).

Thanks for all the pointers and advice, much appreciated.

The sports exhaust can be retro-fitted by the dealer for less cost than if it were selected as a factory option. Someone on here paid £800 to have the sports exhaust fitted - it cost £1000 as a factory-fit option.

I finally pushed the button this morning on a lovely C7 RS6 that ticked enough of the boxes.

Most importantly it has Dynamic Pack and Sports Exhaust, 21 inch wheels, but also the black gloss pack (so has the Quattro grille) and Surround cam on the parking. I had to concede on the Pano roof and adaptive cruise control, etc., but it is a facelift and in immaculate condition (paintwork completely unmarked, must have been wrapped) and done less than 5k miles.

It's silver, which I liked more then I thought I would, but probably wouldn't have been my first choice.

Can't wait to pick it up!

Many congratulations! Look forward to seeing some pictures - silver is quite an unusual choice.

I agree, think it is officially called Prism Crystal Silver which looks nice in the flesh. I wouldn't have chosen it personally, but when I came across one in such good condition, I knew it was for me.

Wouldn't be my choice - I thought - but that looks lovely. And different.
Congratulations!

Prism looks far better than that in the outside natural light. I recall an early forum C7 was Prism and there were high res pics posted - possibly in the C7 pics thread - and it looks stunning. Looks ace with black optics there.

And whatever the colour you will love the car. Just done 500 miles in mine in three days with my wife, dog and a load of luggage. Can't think of a car I would rather have done it in. And - while we are not allowed to talk mpg - it averaged just under 30mpg and we were pushing on, albeit on busy roads. Unbelievable for this type of vehicle.

I spotted a prism c7 in Wandsworth, it looked great in the flesh.
Good choice

Amazing really. It certainly wasn't a primary consideration, but is nice to stick 2 fingers up to the tractor brigade and a positive change coming from a C6 where 20 was the absolute best.

Pick up is set for Thursday, will be counting the hours until then!

One thing I would really like, but is currently missing is the Audi Smartphone Interface. Does anyone have any experience of this? Is it any good?
I have a quote for retrofitting it (£600) from a company I have used before. Given it was only a £250 option and they say it will take an hour, it doesn't sound like it is too involved, but I have no idea what they actually need to do and hence whether that is good value (or worth it).

I assume that's CarPlay. Not sure what the score is for retrofitting earlier FL cars, it's only latterly become an option.

I'm happy to be corrected, but as far as I know SMI (for CarPlay and Android Auto) requires both hardware and software. SMI is only retrofittable to the new Q7 and the new B9 A4 where the integration already part-exists.

SMI is brilliant, I swear by it and I think integrated Nav will be a thing of the past in 12-24mths time if Apple and Google get their development acts together. But, it's only worthwhile on a touchscreen, else it's VERY fiddly to use. I have it my other half's Golf, and it's brilliant through the touchscreen discover nav, but when I used it in a new Q7 I found it very frustrating due to having to use the MMI knob/pad etc.

Interesting to see how this in-car / mobile sat-nav battle plays out. The in-car sat nav is now an integral part of the car's operation, providing inputs to the headlights, gearbox and ACC systems, so it is unlikely to disappear from the car. Also, you really need the onboard gyro and external GPS for reliable nav, neither of which are available on the phone. For me, the up-to-date (free!) mapping and the more detailed traffic data are the plus points of phone-based nav but it is still not the ideal solution.
