Another topic about exhausts..

Post by Magido » Mon Oct 03, 2016 5:22 pm

Hello again fellow RS6-owners.

I bought my C7 ´14 used with about 30k kilometers on it.
Unfortunately the first owner did not spec the car with the Audi sportexhaust?!? Who want their car this quite?!?!??!

Lucky for me. I dont have kids. And my girlfriend do NOT have a saying in the matter..... :biggrin3:
So i took the liberty of ordering a Miltek Cat-back none resonated exhaust system (Wow that is a long word......

I heard from some people that the difference wont be huge.. And that the cat-back system wont make much of a difference in sound at all.
What is your experience from when you installed a cat-back system on your monsters?

I like loud cars (But not antisocial-hooligan style loud) so if this is way to quite. I might go with the downpipes and cat-replacements (Not race-cats. i mean catless)

I listen to alot of youtube-videos. But honestly its very hard to hear a difference (Except from the people with the full system like Jon Olsson & co)

Give me your thoughts, and all the little details ;)

I don't have the Milltek, I have the original exhaust with the front and centre resonators deleted. But I have heard the Milltek and it makes a big difference in noise. It doesn't make a big difference in power unless you get the full system and I think maybe that is what you have got comments mixed up about.

Thx for the fast reply!!

If you removedf the front and center resonetors you removed all 4 i guess?
And did you hear the full miltek or the cat-back..

No i know it wont get much powergain. Maybe around 650hp with map (But i guess u can get that with stock exhaust aswell)
Im just not sure if you mean that the full system or the catback makes a big difference in sound?

The cat back makes lots of noise difference. The turbo back makes noise and power.
A remap with standard exhaust or milltek cat back will get about 700ps, a remap with turbo back will see about 750ps.

Yes I removed all 3 resonators (the centre resonator is a single box that both pipes go into but split inside).

I've heard a Milltek cat back only.

I followed a friends Full Milltek including decat the other day and that was very loud. He actually says it's too loud and is going to go back to standard down pipes but it sounded good.
I would say my Akra system has got louder with a few miles on it and I think Millteks will do the same. Perfect noise level to me for this type of car. Also much louder out than in!

MUCH LOUDER
I heard those. (Same as Jon Olsson runs) way to loud. And you wont clear the annual car-test.

Of course, a straight pipe is always going to be louder! Catless downpipes will make a step change in noise even with a completely stock rear section.

Yepp. And it is insanely loud.
Loud enough to pop car-alarms out on the street at downshifts etc.

Can you compare it too the none sport original exhaust?

This is how mine sounds. And note that the cameraman is standing exactly at the exhausts tips.. I hate it :/ so low.

No people usually say that it is the best sound you can get. Aspecially for the money (Its alot cheaper then the normal turbo-back system)

This is the best value exhaust though, this is a warm engine with gentle revs (cost £360)
