Boost, Oil Pressure...

On RS4.org (i think) someone posted the way to be able to see boost, oil pressure etc... on the RS4 computer. Does anybody remember or know how?

I don't think the climate control system conputer has access to these parameters.

Is it possible that you are referring to the add on module that a 3rd party have manufactured which sits between the radio and the dash display. This can be fitted with upto 8 sensors which can report on various temps, pressures etc.....

Not sure what it was called, but I'm pretty sure Bushy was looking to do a group buy or at least test one himself. Might be as well to PM him.

i did look into supplying a DIS extender item to UK users, however this never took off as it would only work on non-CAN bus cars, and only those that did not have Sat Nav so i decided not to persue it

It was from a german company called twixdata (i think)

The other option is to get VAG-COM or VWTool software and a cable to plug into the diagnostic port.

Good point about VAG com, though I don't think the car even has an oil pressure sensor (other than the on/off one that does the oil light) so I dare say even with this you wouldn't be able to read the oil pressure.

There's 3 that I know of in various stages of development;

1. Tripcomp DEI - Still in development & it's been a very long time that way, but if they can pull the features they want it sounds like good stuff.

2. A German DIS enhancement - Seems like it has some good features and is available now. CAN bus version is supposedly in development.

3. EFU - This might be the German kit listed above, but tmported (and possibly modified) for the US market.
