If I were you, I'd sell the repaired wheels on eBay (being upfront that they've been straightened) and buy golfather's vossens.

Surely only a matter of time before they buckle again?

That's good you got it sorted.

I tried the repair route but was told that they were technically twisted not buckled so couldn't be repaired.

I am reluctant to replace like for like as it will just happen again. Im putting up with it for now as it is only noticeable around 70mph

Help All 4 wheels buckled

Did you get in touch with Audi directly? Dealers can be a bit slack with warranty. They make far less money from warranty repairs. I still would have made noise. At least get them to pay for the repair.

As for the comparison with GM type cars - yes it's a higher risk I low profile large wheels but that doesn't mean a failure is OK. This is why you pay so much. We had 320-430kW 1.8 tonne cars with 20" wheels from factory too. Forged wheels, brembos, etc. Never had issues with buckling that I'm aware of.

One was a pulsing when braking and a very minor vibration through the steering wheel.

Just had a call saying all 4 wheels are buckled. These are the black 21”

They had them on the balance machine and have advised that they can visually see the buckle when spinning. (They have offered to show me)

You will have to take my word on this obviously but I cant remember any big hits on pot holes or anything to have caused this let alone on one alloy.

The car is in perfect condition – all alloys are untouched, tyres not damaged or bulging anywhere. How does this happen to all 4 wheels!!??

They have said as expected that this isn’t under warranty. So I need some advice from you guys on how to deal with this.
So after all the side comments and sexual frustration what happened with the wheels :bigwave:

I ask because I have the PE model with the same black/silver 21's and the same situation with 3 of the wheels no longer going round and round. It had a wobble which was increasing. Tetbury noted the fault and said new discs on the front. Reading then did the discs but not only failed to sort the wobble but handed it back feeling like a 90's London taxi that had skittled every curb in Kensington. Now I get it back to them and hear that 3 wheels are out. They also claim it is a consumable and so have offered to have them repaired by a company that can apparently get the wiggle out of them. Really ? Can this be done ?

I have said this is dissappointing.
1. 600bhp car with 21 default alloys and three wobble within 9000 miles. As above no marks on the rims or tyres and no stupidity or track days.
2. Car handed back in worse state than it went in.
3. Offer to fix a wheel rather than replace. As if thats going to be as smooth a ride as it was handed over.

So whats the feeling out there? :FIREdevil:

You have to let them repair and see what happens. If that goes to <beep> then replacement should be sought. If not already done, raise with Audi Uk.

All par for the course, I'm afraid.

you will want to find out if there are buckled (flat spot) or warped twist in the alloy. A flat spot so to speak can be repaired using a hydraulic press to make it round again. Videos of this on YouTube. If it is warped / twisted then (im told) it cannot be repaired. Debates can be had on a repair but that a different story.

Naturally mine are warped

Essentially i still have the wheels - its not too bad only really feel it at a certain speeds so you can drive round it. I keep a look out on ebay but i just cant stomach £3k at the moment.

So many to choose from in Germany, didn't read all the descriptions but they all looked unmarked or new.

FYI if you want to search on ebay.de for more then search "Audi rs6 21 felgen"

good links thanks
sorry i was looking at the ones that came with tyres and the sensors - they look better options for me and less grief - also means when i hand the car back to audi i can swap out easy.

i fell out of love with the car for a while there but a drive up past glenshee soon rekindled my love

Just swapped from winters (Dunlop SPs) to summers (Michelin Super Sports) with both running on non PE 21” OEMs.
During the swap the tyre/wheel Shop informed me that 7 out of the 8 wheels were buckled to some extent, with one buckled badly.

I have never had a buckled wheel in my life.ImageImage

Going in to see Audi Reading tomorrow about another issue (grabbing brakes).

Car went into to Audi today to look at the DRC and they have confirmed that two out of four wheels are buckled! Confirms that the PE wheels aren't immune. They and the car is immaculate. However Audi had their standard stance for the issue saying that it wasn't covered by warranty. Got a quote for a repair at £75 per wheel. Anyone had theirs repaired and then had issues thereafter?

Front shocks need replacing as a minimum as well. Which is covered...

In my experience (I had 4 news shocks on my C7), if the shocks are leaking then the pressure will have dropped and there is a big risk that the DRC accumulators need replacing to. Both mine did when knocking came back 2000 miles after new shocks all round. But that then fixed the problem for next 20K (when I sold the car).

I mentioned the accumulators to the dealership when they confirmed that the front shocks were leaking. They advised they needed to replace the fronts first and then see how the system performed. They even advised me not to drive it for fear of damaging the system! Apparently no cars available for me today otherwise I would have left it with them...

I'm going to push again to get them to ensure there is other damage to the system when it goes in on Wednesday. Fingers crossed for some cooperation and a good result!

Had 3 (or maybe all) repaired. Totally fixed the sight vibration I had at 75-80mph. No issues since
