When The Guardian Does a RS6 Review...

Post by FaisalJ » Tue Sep 20, 2016 2:04 pm

There you have it guys. You should've bought a house in Lancashire instead of a C7 '6.

Amazing that someone got paid to write this! Absolute drivel. Had to share it though, just because it's so bad!

On the upside, the comments are quite entertaining. There are some really pissed off posters in there!

Not a well written article but hard to argue with what it is saying:

 +£90K on a car is a bit showy
 Mazdas can be cheap
 It is rip your face off fast
 It is a heavy beast
 It is an environmental disaster
 the leather is beautiful
 kids eating fruit shoots (or anything else for that matter) have no place inside a vehicle
 "it will ruin you for all other cars"

However-
It completely misses the fact that it does play the part of Devil and a Saint extremely well

My wife was born before her and she loves everything about the RS- so don't really think age or gender has anything to do with it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if, as in this case, it seems to have a somewhat veiled agenda.

Its the Gruianiad, I am surprised they did not start ranting on about the cost to the planet and other off topic points. I thought it was just plain content free pap.

Yes but your wife isn't also a Guardian journalist (or is she?). Let's face it, I expected nothing else from a review written by a middle aged female guardian journo.

Reminds me of the journo who wrote that piece 'praising' the dude who keyed that V8 Vantage and was caught on dashcam. My word she got trolled afterwards lol

Edit - and the safety charity 'Brake' spokes person Clare Morrison slating the current RS6 back when it was launched, saying that no family car needs to be able to do even 100 mph, let alone 190 mph the RS6 clocks

I actually thought the article was quite funny and entertaining as a result. It was full of veiled compliments, but compliments nonetheless!

I think you have to appreciate there is no point the Guardian being another car review publication. It's their take on things.

Absolutely. I think others have missed the subliminal message. She loved it :)

I rather liked it as well, nothing to complain about and of course it implies that there is a market for such beasts among Grauniad readers! :jump:

Predicable class war. The irony is that they're staffed by champagne socialists who probably live far from eco-friendly lives themselves.
