Sorry Bob. I missed it totally. Dumb me.
Of course your time counts and that time seems perfectly in line with the expected performances. give or take .2 of a sec which is nether here nor there. Bob that time is superbly on the average for the up grades you have done.I believe you have the full miltec and Amd tuned
It may be the case the cats on our cars are not actually giving that much extra power it remains to be seen.

Best to do it a few times and you will probable find it comes out the same. Clear, flat and not windy on Optimax 98.6 or Ron 97 at apx 20-25 C is similar to us all I would say.

It is best to be legal and use a private piece of road and make sure you are clear in front, You do need some room.

So here we go again
Flashyg 7.5 rs4 stage 3, 470ish timed 3k to 6k in 4th gear starting at 2k

Bakerdcb 7.52 rs4 stage 1, 420ish timed 3k to 6k in 4th gear starting at 2k

Stevesmee 6.83 rs4 stage 3, 520 ish timed 3k to 6k in 4th gear starting at 2k (+fmic and blue printed TB's)

Tartan Rob 6.87 ,s4 revo stage 1, 330ish timed 3k to 6k in 4th or 3rd gear starting at 2k
(fastest s4 this side of the silver bullet! if it was 4th gear)
awaiting absolute confirmation from TR as to which gear.

Bobjebb 7.6 rs4 stage 3, 470ish timed 3k to 6k in 4th gear starting at 2k

Dippy 6.84 s4 ,full miltec Stage 2, Amd chipped 350ish timed 3.04k to 6k in 3rd gear starting at 2k.

(DaveP if you are can we would love your post.)

Gordan, how are you? obviously i was hoping to get a good time, especially after how much money i have spent on my rs4!!!
you mentioned lambda sensor problems, i appear to have suffered this at castle coombe the other day, for the first four laps of each session it was driving extremely well but, as the engine temp. increased the rev limiter appeared to be reducing! for the first four laps or so it would rev to 7250 before change up, then slowly this decreased over the following laps first 7000, then 6800 and so on down to 6300, always feeling exactly the same as the rev limiter cutting in, QST were there and connected me to vag com on the local roads which showed 8.95 on the lambda's which they say should be more like 7.95, know any different? also i am now ready for custom re-map, any thoughts on these subjects Gordan?

regards stevesmee (give me a ring Gordan< i've lost your mobile number!)

I will try to help you with the custom remap. I'm sure this will get sorted out, re Lambda issues.
Have done quite a bit of research now into lambda so ring me any time

And back to the topic:
Any More posters, RE the 3k-6k log in FOURTH gear starting at 2k.
Still waiting for that elusive S4 which is better than an Rs4 where is Giles! :)

OK, tried this again on a different and longer!! road. I must admit I was very twitchy beforehand, silly speeds on an unknown road not big or clever. To be honest I've never really floored it in a car I've driven before, I've always been frightened of 'breaking something'. (I'd obviously make a great racing driver, I'd be in the pits every lap, checking everything was OK)

So I took a deep breath, a less tentative approach and a mate to do the timing. Three runs @ 22.5 degrees. Two at 7.3 and the last at 7.4 (phone stopwatch only accurate to one decimal place)
Hope that helps, I'm not doing it again! My poor car...

Will do mine next weekend matey...went MAF testing this weekend to find out that mine is pretty knackered methinks...got one on order so will get it fitted and do your test then! :D

- Just to warn you though, it'll beat your slow boring grey ones...and it doesn't sound like I've got a hole in my exhaust either ;-)

Hey mine is always in "Development".When it is painted red it will eat you.
BTW How did you do MAf testing? I've got your vag com!

Bob that is an excellent time, Don't worry about the car what brakes can be fixed and the more you do it the better you will feel.
G

Note to the Wise:So it transpires the MTM stage 3 qst 471 bhp "very fast one" according to the tuners is actually the slowest. Ha !
Is this a wind up.

Went for a run with the MAF disconnected and it went like stink!...hence the conclusion that the MAF is buggered - doesn't surprise me as it was filthy last time we had a look and is probably still the original MAF in there...

...I'm considering removing all the interior and not wearing any clothes to help keep the weight down before I do my test run just to wind you up matey

I cleaned my MAF the other day with Isopropyl Alcohol from Maplins £9.99 for 1 ltr. Remove MAF, put in bag with a splash of Isopropyl Alcohol, shake around, remove, and leave to dry. Car feels much better .

Yea...cleaned mine the last time which helped but apparently cleaning doesn't totally work and eventually it has to be replaced..

It's about time the car was given a pressie anyway ;-)
