Full Audi Service History - FRUSTRATION!

Post by Jonnyjetster » Wed Sep 07, 2016 2:20 pm

I have recently bought a Mugello Blue B7 RS4 Cab. The book has all it's stamps as you'd expect however I'm missing the Servicing Invoices that detail the work (and repairs) if any :(

So, having previously had this problem I approached my local Audi garage. The last time I did this they happily printed off the full history. This was some 10 years ago with an A6 Quattro.

This time they informed me they couldn't print any detailed invoices for me as they have the previous owners address and details on them.....sadly Data Protection. Now I am in real pickle as I don't know what's mechanically new / old / where I am with regards to the Coilpack recall etc etc.

Will Audi be able to tell me which service is due next? Insp or Major? Am I going to have my pants pulled down and told I need the far more expensive service? not that this bothers me so much I just want the car to have whatever it needs. Mileage is 86k now on a 2007 plate.

Anyone got any ideas how I can get some history together?

Many thanks in advance,

JJ.

Try a different dealer.

Try calling Audi UK.

+1

Some stealers seem to make up their own rules

I was told i couldn't get the radio code for a Golf OEM nav unit by one stealer due to some privacy issue, so I spoke to another one who gave it to me.

I had this problem with a 130i, had all the stamps but no invoices. I never did track them down, data protection innit.

Yes, it's a frustrating scenario.

I have tried to do exactly the same as you when tracing service history. Two dealerships gave me copies of the historic invoices and one refused. However, they were happy to provide all the work that had been carried out verbally, including dates and mileage, so I just wrote all of this down.

Later I compiled and typed out a chronological history for the car giving - Invoice numbers, Dealership/Specialist name, telephone number and the work carried out. This was printed off and shoved into my history folder, along with all other paper work I had for the car. It was never even queried when I later sold the car and the gentleman was more than happy with what I had provided.
