Part-exchanging a PCP car against a lease car

Post by BillTheButcher » Mon Sep 05, 2016 7:54 am

Is it possible to part-exchange a car on a PCP against a new car on a lease agreement?

Cheers. :)

Yes, you pay off the PCP and then take the lease.

Thanks. :)

So lease companies take cars in PX? (I suppose that should have been how I phrased the question in the first place. :bash:)

Suspect not in that case, you'll have to shift and then take a lease.

From what I've read this morning I think you're right. I'm trying to get rid of the PCP and avoid being without a car, as I will be if I sell/SOR.

No. You are renting a new car. The lease company won't pay you cash and take your px

Would you recommend over private sale?

I've had successful dealings with a group buyer and it was positive, this should open more of those doors.

Aye, it was Sytner I sold to before. They came and collected!

Good to know, will have a use for them soon enough.

Thank you. First time I've ever heard of them. I'll call them today. :)

This is good news for me, from their FAQs:
If I have any financing secured against my car, will you still sell it?
Yes - we can still put your car out to our dealers if it has financing secured on it. Most dealers will be happy to liaise with the finance company direct to clear the loan and then pay the remaining balance to you. If the amount owed is more than the value of your car then you will need to pay the difference to the finance company.

Advert submitted to tootle. Pending review at the moment. Let's see what happens. :)

Thanks again, HYFR.

The tootle advert went live at 9:55 this morning. By 10:07 I'd had three offers, all significantly higher than the ones I've had from car supermarkets. :)

Of course, there's no guarantee that any of them will pay the full amount that they're offering but it's a good start.
