Thinking about it you are right. Not much you can really upgrade to without going daft. My one car fits all approach is deffo not the way to go but then again I have tried owning 2 or 3 cars and that does not work for me either.

Haha, Thorburn on Tyresmoke (you are on there too I recall) persuaded me to join SELOC many years ago, unfortunately the user name Ian_C was already taken, so I've got a different user name on there just to confuse

Love the Exige, and love the photo of it! They look great value but ultimatley a little toooooo uncomfy inside for me.

Still, i am also in the Lotus club!

Lovely! A proper Lotus! An S1 Exige drove past me this weekend when I was up in the Peak District, awesome little machine!

However, if the Exige S3 is uncomfy, where on earth does that sit?!

Or is it track-only?

Ian, yes it is track only!

Confusingly, it's actually an Elise. There was a BTCC support series where they were made, and then the following year the road version was brought out - the first Exige. There are lots of differences, but the obvious ones are the riveted, quick release clamshells and a central driving position. They are easy to make road legal though, but hard to find.

Ahhhhhhhhh, I remember those early central driving position cars! Must make them feel like a million dollars on track. Much safer on track too if you get a side impact - although I imagine they are even more of a nightmare to get in and out of!
