Had one a few years ago. Mapped to 700, cracking car but mpg just wound me up. Never out of the petrol station. Averaged around 12-15 and 19 on a very good day. I dont mind putting fuel in when playing but expect over 20 when cruising down the road.

I recon somebody would do active aftermarket suspension for the rs3. Tein maybe? That would really help.

I would personally go for a new Golf R. Those cheap lease deals must mean second hand ones are pretty cheap? A much better car to drive, better looking in my view, much newer interior and it's not like you can't get power out of them. They must weigh, what, 100kg lighter?

So RS6 gone RS3 arrived.

totally different cars.

RS6 was soooo comfy, quiet and did everything just right.

RS3 cracking engine, good chassis very nimble and light compared to the RS6. understeer is not an issue unless you go mad and going mad is great fun. Putting he traction control / stability onto sport more or less sorts out the understeer. What a laugh. The road noise will annoy me as will the hard suspension. Road noise is easy to fix I have loads of sound proofing I bought for the GTR. Suspension I will just have to get used it. Not sure it will be a keeper (that's nothing new) but deffo good fun, something I was missing.

Glad you like it, but your definition f understeer must be vastly different to mine!

That's ok though, everyone is different. On the road understeer wont be an issue unless you are going totally mad and I won't be.

had another wee play last night.

Not sure what all the whinging is about re worst car ever and handles like a barrow etc etc.

I do lots of karting and heres what I think.

TonyKart. 90% on the pace right out of the box. Very easy to drive and set up.

CRG 85% on the pace out of the box but after some fettling every bit as fats as the Tony but not everyone gets on with them

Praga, 75% on the pace out of the box but again after lots of fettling it is almost as good and some can make it just as fast. although harder to get up to speed with

So where does that leave the RS3? I would say CRG. Out of the box its very good, nimble, checkable (and I know where its going) but could be better.

I guess the tuning suspension / steering wise will be,

Haldex controller
whiteline ARBs
Toe out / in adjustments
Camber / Caster adjustments

Every Audi understeers they just all do it to varying degrees. Given they all have the engine hanging out front its kind of inevitable. Much like the backwards Audi (Porsche lol)

I think I am going to enjoy the challenge and making an underdog (in some eyes) perform. Power wise it looks like 500bhp is easy, 600bhp is a bit more tricky and hugely more expensive. A good handling 500 or 600bhp RS3 will be good fun I can just tell. Now, off and fit some sound proofing. Coming from the RS6 I am spoilt lol

Well we dumped it after a year. Even the wife hated it in the end. Worst car purchase ever.

Not sure how you make the gearbox manage the power though, it's somewhat chocolate.

911 is in a different handling league!

How are you getting on with the prehistoric tech?

Remember I had a Porsche as well ( well 2 actually 911 Turbo and Cayenne Turbo S, now that is old tech for the money), different league you are right complete rubbish lol Only Porsche people buy Porsche. unless of course you are speaking about the 918 but then again you need over £700k to get one

Nothing wrong with my wee Audi. Value for money I am happy enough. I will worry about gearbox once it fails. I never believe all the stories until it actually happens to me. most of it is internet hype and /or people being stupid.

All these negative vibes, Stop it. Cars are fun for me. I will keep it a while review it, mod it and flog it. Gees lighten up. You hated it good for you

Me either. 8P RS3 was an abomination.
