RS4 B7 Suspention help!

Post by Shazrs4 » Mon Aug 29, 2016 12:58 am

Hi
New to the forum!
Just got my Rs4 months ago & it's been a absolute nightmare
New Engine fitted 3weeks ago, but now have got the dreaded Drc suspension fault
Had it checked out and i need 2 shock absorbers & the metal pipes need replacing which run from one corner to the other quoted £3500!
Need some coilovers/Shocks to get me by for the next few months as at the moment I can't afford to throw much more money at it... Seen some coilovers on eBay but had a few questions. Is the a4 Quattro b7 suspension the same fitment as the rs4? As I can get hold of those for not a bad price and was wondering if they will hold up for a few months?
Also was wondering if anyone's got some coilovers for the rs4? As if not too much can collect/ PayPal and post
Need asap
Any help would be much appreciated :)

I've had 2 shocks replaced at Audi and didn't pay anywhere near that! It was about £650 per corner that included pipes to the valve

The A4 suspension won't be damped for the RS4. Spring rates will be off too. Bilstein PSS are only about £850-£900 so if you are lookin for a decent budget option that would be your best bet.

The pss sounds like the best way forward. But you'll be losing the hydraulic anti roll. So will most likely need to stiffen the anti roll bars.

Are you thinking of doing it yourself or getting a decent Indy to do the short term work?

Where abouts in the country are you? You need a decent independent, as it'd by far cheaper than using Audi.

Hi
Thanks for all your replies!
Audi have said that the pipes above the fuel tank are corroded and leaking not the little rubber ones next to the shock, I phoned unit 20 & have been told that it'll be £2200 for just the pipe as to replace it is 18hours labour as the rear axle has to come off:/
I'm based in Birmingham, I've got a independent who's had a quick look at it & goes it's just a matter of removing the brake hoses and standard shocks will fit in but I Dident just want to take his word... £8-900 ain't to bad for those but at the moment I ain't got that much of a budget.. The engine set me back quite a bit and mortgage payments & 3 kids!!
Can't find none second hand either at the moment:(

If possible could you please send me a screen shot of you invoice? Atleast that way I've got something to show them..
Would be very much appreciated!
