RS4 B8 MMI Map Update

Post by Sammyb349 » Wed Aug 24, 2016 3:00 pm

Folks,
No mention of maps in this sub-forum so I need to ask... Being the old generation A4, what's the deal with map upgrades? I've checked out the myAudi account and no link to update the maps and can't find anything relating to our model as to whether we get free upgrades or not.

For those wanting to give a specific answer mine has High Connect, Tech Pack, Convenience Park and remote key (in case it matters?!

Thanks all

I don't think the RS4 came with updates, it's a dealer upgrade if you have HDD, or new DVD if not.

So RS4, one of the top line products doesn't get map upgrades but the A3 gets free upgrades?

I struggle to believe that can be right ? Mine is HDD and I have SD card slot, presumably to allow the upgrades.

I was driving this weekend and there are a few roads and junctions that were missing which I'd like added.

When did map upgrades come in? There is no logical reason why my 2015 car should be penalised if a 2014 8v A3 has it. I can update the maps the same way!

You're missing the point, B8 was last updated in 2013, but the platform is older still.

Can't see any mention of free updates myself?

Some models come with a quantity, five?, of updates available via Connect (download directly in the car) or via download from the MyAudi page and SD cards. B8 isn't one of those.

Okay. So got to pay the stealer to update the maps from 2013 then. Any idea how much they will take for the firmware and map update having flipped me over the barrel and put all their might into searching for lost gold?

Couple of hundred quid I'd imagine.

Lube is BYO. They'll pass a bucket around in service to see what spittle they can gather, if you're lucky.
