Can be hard an you will need a flat head rachet to fit down the back between the bulkhead an pcv valve.

MRC changed my PCV valve for a new one as part of their investigation and it made no difference. But it's worth trying as when my RS4 was revving, it was worse than yours. For example on one occasion in a petrol station I halted and the engine started revving up past 3k revs and back. Like a ghost in the system. This was on the way back from Skiing. I shat myself all the way home as the car was so bad it would sometimes stall at idle. I did make it home but that's what made me sell the car.

Here's a video of my initial problem before it got worse. In this video I blip the throttle to 3k to make the rev needle settle bounce, settle bounce and a smaller blip again to show the same unsettled idle issue.

Ah right... Yeah, mine isn't like that... The symptoms are exactly like the other guy in the link.

OK... so i had my PCV valve unit replaced by Turner Race Developments, and it seems to have fixed the issue. Car now drives a lot better, and idles a lot better. These guys are highly recommended, and i actually feel like i can trust them with my car. Thanks for all the replies and links to help me sort this out.
