Just had new front brakes, service and health check at Audi and having 4 new Michelin Pilot Super Sports, due to getting a flat, fitted tomorrow........
And now, it appears I have a leak from the dreaded gearbox
In 2013, there was a slight leak from the gearbox sump, so all gaskets were replaced, new strainer and new fluid at Audi.
But looking under the car, it appears it is dripping down from the exhaust heat shield, that looks like it is below the rear end of the gearbox, rather than what I think is the sump.
The fluid is clear/green colour and is oily.
I will get a picture uploaded later.
Upon finding this, I think I am going to park it up and leave it, after the new tyres are fitted!
It still changes up and down gears fine, but needless to say, I will be driving very carefully until this is fixed.
I have it booked in for a diagnosis at Audi next Wednesday morning.
In the meantime, can anyone shed any light on this, what it might be and if you think or how to test if my gearbox may be damaged?
