Exhaust flaps playing up, I think!

Post by bedlamater » Wed Jul 13, 2016 11:32 pm

So when I first got my car I seem to remember that I could be in Park with the car running and switch between Comfort and Dymanic and the exhaust flaps would open. However this doesn't seem to be happening anymore and they will only open when I put in Drive, or am I dreaming and you always have to be in drive for them to open?

I'm also finding when actually driving that if I switch between Comfort to Individual (with exhaust sound set to Dynamic) it doesn't open the flaps, I.e I don't hear it get more throaty..

I have a Milltek but I've only noticed these things recently, 1500 miles into owning the system.

So I could just be going mad, it could be the flaps themselves but strange for both to do it, could be the plugs, could be the ECU...

Help!

Kinda run into a simular thing (actually not), but only got my car (S6 with flaps) some time and recently installed a non-res milltek with valves.
For some reasons the left valve was in the closed position, while the other was on the open position. No mather what mode i'm in, the valves not reacting. Some for starting the car up, afaik they then always open up.
I even disconnected the valve actuator from the valve itself and testted the modes, but no movement.
Scanned the car but no errors...
Anybody knows under what module i could find the valves and monitor them?

*Kinda waiting for milltek to come out with their valve tronic module for audi, then one can manually program them and open/close them manually (by for example with any program linked steeringwheel button).

Milltek are saying it is the ECU, which I'm inclined to agree with. So how do I flush the bug out, if there actually is a bug and it's not just in my head?! An Audi dealer won't touch this part of the car now surely as I have an aftermarket box on, unless any of you guys can recommend a more understanding one? Thanks in advance.

If the flaps fail it will flag an error in the engine module. Doing a scan with VCDS will show up any errors.

Well that is the thing, did several scans (okey, it is with Obdeleven, not Vag Com), but no errors found :s.
In my case i might think the left flap wasn't reset and thinks it is open when in fact it is closed, but even then.
I was thinking of maybe putting some 12V battery on it and turn the actuator 90° and test again.
Need to see the dealer saterday anyway, i might ask if they know more (the have an other customer that is running a milltek too).

I got an email from my tuner aswell saying they can program the flaps and link it how you want (kinda same why the milltek can custom program the flaps i guess).
