Had the Akra system fitted today.
The quality and fit is amazing. Very nicely finished, fitting kit even includes copper grease for the bolts and thread lock etc. Just had a short drive home but the sound is amazing. Compared to the custom centre section delete I had on the tone is much higher pitched and smoother. More like a Italian V8 sound than a old school muscle car. It's loud with the valves open without being obnoxious. The pops and bangs are a little less than before as well. Very pleased as I think it suits the car well and love the sound

Very nice! Certainly you get more cool points with an Akra. I just can't justify spending that sort of money on what is - in reality - some pipework. You can't see it once it's fitted, and the function is no different from a Miltek or similar. I suppose you could argue you'll get a reasonable % of your money back when you sell it on though :boots:

Exactly that's how I justified it - and the noise is very different

The tailpipe bit looks nice.
I know it's a personal thing but I prefer the sound of the milltek. I know you describe it as having an Italian V8 type sound which I normally really like but I don't think any of the Akra exhaust I've heard on any RS sound great. Having said that, I've not heard any in the flesh yet.
And that price!!!

Sound very different in the flesh Mike to any video. They still have a deep tone but with a lovely "highly tuned" howl. Also the pops and bangs are less tinie, deeper in tone and a bit less intrusive.
Everyone likes different things at the end of the day. It's a shame it's not easy to hear all in the flesh when choosing.

How much do you think the Akrapovic will be worth after a couple of years? I'm tempted myself but it all depends on how much it's really going to cost.
