18" Alloys

Post by DirtyDiesel » Fri Jun 24, 2016 8:33 pm

Nooby question inbound, Looking at getting these for my winter setup (yes, it is a little early to worry about that)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A3-A4-GE ... 2428604867?

Are they correct fittement (seen alloys with 5x100 and 5x112. Like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112012083931? ... EBIDX%3AIT)

if the are the right fitment do they just bolt on, or would they need spigot rings? (Not too hot on VAG fitments)

Thanks

You need 5 x 112 but you also need the right offset. That depends on the width.

Keep an eye out for b5 rs4 wheels (hard type) et20 so sit a tad further out but look good! Or you often see a5 wheels come up cheap in 18's and are normally et20/30 but you will need a spigot to take them down to size.

Thanks for the help. Problem with only dealing with Fords/FWD's didn't have to worry about ET's. Glad you guys pointed that out.

Should i try to keep to 7.5j-8j to prevent them rubbing the arches?

I'll keep looking for those ones then. If Push came to shove, i could get any set and run spacers, to push it out to ET 20-30

Yeah, but then you could potentially be spending lots on bolts and spacers. You might as well try and get a set of genuine 18 or 19 inch alloys. Or even some replicas with the correct offset.

Don't know what the ET is. Are they B5 alloys? Isn't that when Audi was making them out of butter?

Why don't you see if site Sponsor revolution has any good deals. Not sure if they do a discount code. These would look fine on the RS6:

Or maybe try and find some genuine B7 RS4 wheels. I think they look great on the RS6, even if it disturbs me a bit mixing and matching models / generations.

If you do decide to go for b5 wheels make sure they are the hard type, just ask for the serial numbers. I think I paid 300 for my b5 rs4 rims (hard type) so the price seems good if they are the right ones.

Just remembered what you mean by the soft and hard ones, forgot about the butter ones. Those ones are the genuine B5's but they are in fact the soft ones (Can see 025T)

I'll have a revolutions if they're a decent price. I take it they aren't going to fall apart like cheap alloys?
