Since the B7 was never available with 7 seats it won't be homologated, which means the seats have not passed any crash tests and it's very unlikely any insurance company would provide cover - assuming the modification is declared.edge wrote:never seen that before. how are the seats fitted? Any issues with insurance etc. are they legal?
FON.Samiur wrote:Hi all, a friend pointed me in this direction with regards the extra seats on my RS4,
A few points: the seats bolt directly onto the boot floor and come fully stamped and certified by the installer. My insurance company was willing to cover the vehicle as a 7 seater as long as I sent them the documentation and certificates of the conversion. They also stated there would be no adverse issues with premiums or cover, however I have no children or need for extra seats so have never insured the car with the extra seats or even used the seats - they came as an added bonus with the car and have just sat wrapped up in the garage.
The colour makes me want to keep it forever but time for a change! More than happy to answer any questions
