you have to replace the complete trims and have them painted it is also worth replacing all the clips. It is fairly common that the metal strips rot within the lower door trims and it ends up being disproptionately expencive to put right as the trims are about £70 + vat each from Audi and then there is the painting cost.

Having said that try VAG Parts www.vagparts.com or GPC VW & Audi www.gpcvwaudi.com where the may cost you about £55 + vat each

From my invoice I think the part part numbers for the front doors are: 8A0853959AGRU & 8A0853960AGRU. The clips are: 443853909A and you need 10 of them (for the front doors only). Do check though.

Or you could always take the metal strips out and glue the trim back on. :D I didn't do it this way.

p.s. nice car and welcome

I used S2 Avant ones on mine. They are a lot cheaper - about £120 for complete set (4 doors & front & rear wings). The RS2 ones are a few mm thicker but you don't really notice the difference.

I spoke to VAGParts about using the s2 avant ones and they say these are black rubber and not at all suitable for an rs2? You got any photos Pete? (If i'm understaing correctly these are the trims at the base of the door?)

Audi are truly rubbish at building them , i have had exactly the same problem on two a4's i have owned previously and now the RS, grrr. wonder if vag parts will do a bulk buy?

Who did you speak to at VAGParts ? The S2 ones are black rubber, but so are the RS2 ones aren't they ? You still have to spray them....I'll take some photo's soon.

I had my replacement trims silicone filled by the bodyshop, (their idea) to help prevent the 'ripple' effect that you get over time.
