Anyone have any knowledge on this Cat D B7 for sale
Hi there,
I've been lurking for a while and have finally decided to take the plunge and get myself a black RS4.
I found a cheap Cat D one on Piston Heads classifeds for 13,500. I wouldn't normally consider a Cat D but was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas as to it's history? It seems you're quite a tight knit community and I would welcome your advice on this. I'm hoping that a member on here may have come across this car.
Many thanks

Googling the Pistonheads listing mobile phone number throws up some interesting results.... Have a look and make up your own mind whether you'd buy from this Ebay seller.....
Hope that helps you.
These cars can be very, very expensive to maintain.

How much are you looking to spend? is it a saloon or avant your after?
Re: Anyone have any knowledge on this Cat D B7 for sale
Hi norman1979, I have a budget of up to £20k for the right car.
Re: Anyone have any knowledge on this Cat D B7 for sale
Sorry, I was initially looking for a saloon but after watching the exhaust video I'm not averse to an Avant.
Re: Anyone have any knowledge on this Cat D B7 for sale
There are obviously those from dealers that come with a degree of warantee but at a premium, there are several private sellers with some nice looking cars but I'd much prefer to buy from an enthusiast if I'm going to buy privately. The original post concerning the Cat D was because I had read a thread a while back where a member of this forum was selling one and I wondered if this was the same car.

I don't know this particular car, but wouldn't necessarily be put off by a Cat D if I was going to keep it long term. A mate had a very tidy Sprint Blue saloon last year that was Cat D. The damage was confined to the bonnet, o/s wing, front headlight and grille/front panel. He bought it for about £12k, replaced the damaged panels with new parts and sold it a few months later for a reasonable profit. Critically, he had kept the pictures of the car before repair and had the old panels to show the purchaser.
The lack of details about the nature of the damage to the one in the ad would make me wary. TBH you'd be better off sourcing a well-cared for RS4 from someone on the forum for your >£20k budget. Good luck in your search

Hi Audipardner, I completely agree and I do intend to keep for a long time. It would seem that the Car D cars around at the moment do not fall into the well documented category and must be subsequently discounted from my search.
