Don't want to start an argument with you, but, what the feck do you own a C7 RS6 for?? Just to say you own one?
I don't understand folk who own high performance cars and put inferior tyres on. Then you say you don't intend to push the car in the wet, it's a fecking quattro man, that's the time you really enjoy the car. :kissmyrings:

All the performance cars I have owned get used 'properly' from time to time. Have done a few track days etc, and if I deem it acceptable it will get put through its paces. But I by no means drive it like i stole it all the time for many reasons. Firstly, I value my license, and if I lost it id be completely f*cked. Secondly I'm 34 and did all of that years ago. Thirdly it's a family car which gets used as a daily driver. I don't feel because I have an RS6 and its bloody fast that I have to drive bloody fast everywhere! I think 'inferior tyres' is a bit strong. I haven't put Acceleras on it!

I am sure you will but ignore the negative comments Vesta. I love the forums for the really useful info you can gather, and also the shared love of cars in general but it seems if you have an opinion or way of doing things which is different to someone else it is very easy to receive criticism. I think its a real shame but there are too many ready to jump on you for no reason at all. Hope you are enjoying the car.

Misanoredrs4, thanks for this. I totally agree, didn't think I would get such a backlash for what was initially trying to be a helpful post! Yes very much enjoying the car, a serious piece of kit!

Have you actually read this thread? No one was being rude or harsh. Only one comment, maybe read back

I have read the thread. This is a constructive response then is it? - 'I don't want to start an argument with you, but I will try anyway!'

Different opinions are what makes debate great but some are too forceful and get a little personal, passion is fantastic, just keep it positive and / or light hearted. Whatever someone's reasons for owning a C7 or similar why does it matter?

One of the luxuries of this site is to be able to say what you want, without being battered for making it.

The other luxury is that you can have a debate without causing offence.... that is unless you like slamming, spacers, and subs - which I absolutely love.

Time to put this one to rest I think! Generally constructive criticisms/advice, but definitely a couple of slightly 'harsh' comments. I'm a big boy though, won't lose any sleep! Put it down to everyone being very passionate about RS's, which can only be a good thing ;o)

I think any negativity has been drawn from how you presented the thread. I like most enjoy saving money wherever possible, but buying a pair of 2nd hand tyres for a high value performance car which most appreciate are far from the best tyre for the C7 RS6 & then justifying it by saying you don't need a decent tyre & that average is fine appears a somewhat strange scenario.

Of course it's your choice what you do with your car & i doubt anyone here is overly bothered or concerned, but most will be passionate about the car & as such you've not really got a good tyre deal, you've just got lower quality used tyres for a lower pice than higher quality new ones.

As above though, what you do is your business but of course when you post up such a thread it kind of becomes other peoples business too. I made a similar choice with my car regarding Winter Tyres as was never really bothered to even try them, however a lightly used set of Alpin PA4's for about 50% of their new cost came available so i chose to give them a try for such a low cost & even then i kind of wish i hadn't bothered as we never got any severity in conditions this Winter, however it WAS the low price that caused me to buy them. Summer Tyres are MPSS & i purchase from Tyreleader as i find them the cheapest, but i'd be hard pushed to buy a different brand of tyre even if they were markedly cheaper as i'd then be compromising on performance.

It's called free speech young man. Be a bloody boring site if all we said was positive, no?
My inferior tyre statement, how is that wrong? He's purchased inferior tyres to what he could buy, and on a £80-90k car. That's his choice, fair enough, I was just starting they are inferior.
My comment ref driving hard in the wet, it's a quattro, go enjoy the only bonus of having quattro.
PS, I did keep it light hearted by stating at the start I didn't want to start an argument and a thumbs up at the end.
Vestax replied and i thought it was a decent reply, that's why I didn't reply to that reply. I'm replying to your post just to see if this upsets you again.
Positive comment, the C7 RS7 is a stonking motor :notworthy:

I would seriously question the inferior tyre statements

It seems like Michelin are the only tyre to be seen dead in for the generic forum bum boys , much like a Burberry hat to a chav.

No doubting they are good, but seriously there are still other very good tyre manufacturers!

I have Conti Sport Contacts on my XF S and I have Conti Force Contacts on my F-TYPE R and they are both fantastic tyres.
