Help needed

Post by Sammyb349 » Wed May 25, 2016 3:05 pm

Okay - need some help. Car needs to be collected and returned to get the wheel back to OEM standard as the refurb the dealer did was dog sh*t. They are giving me a temporary car in the meantime.
What I need help with is I think I should be owed some compensation for not having my car, having to do two 100 mile round trips back the garage and time wasted.

At a minimum I am asking for them to make sure the car is full of premium fuel when they return it (I only just filled it up).

Can I legitimately ask for anything else to compensate for the time and inconvenience and if yes, what?!

What do you want out of it? Ask them. I wouldn't be letting them do the repair, I'd be getting them to pay for the repair to be done at a place I want.

I think you may find legally the dealer should be given the option to rectify the issue first. If you believe they cant possibly do this then you can ask for payment to allow you sort rectify it yourself. Its a real pain as similar has happened to me with a previous car.

So looks like I am going to just get the wheel done by someone in London (any suggestions)? The wheel is the v-spoke diamond cut one and has already been badly repaired once and will need milling again.

The dealer is being all grumpy and not helpful, but did agree to put my fuel back to full. Issue is my parking permit can't be passed over to the spare car and so will cost £80 for the two weeks. Something I am not prepared to pay.

I now think it's cheaper and easier for all parties of I get the wheel done somewhere else and they pick up the bill.

Where is the best place to get this done?

I'd recommend alloywheeldoctor normally, but for a diamond cut rim (especially if the dealer is paying), go to Lepsons (Kent).
