Re: Car washing....
Product recommendation really depends on the final look you want - matt, satin or gloss? I also really hate products that sling onto the bodywork which tends to happen with gloss products.
Me personally, I prefer the look of the matt to satin end of the market, so would recommend Gtechniq T1 for that job.
I have also used CarPro PERL to good effect, as it's quite a versatile product at different dilution rates for trims, plastics, engine bay and tyres. It doesn't last as well as the Gtechniq T1 on tyres though. However for the price, it's great value, so gets used on friends and family car tyres and my own cars plastics.
Before applying a dressing you should give the tyres a good scrub with an APC (all-purpose cleaner) for the dressing to adhere the best, something like Bilt Hamber Surfex HD diluted down works well. I have a 1:5 spritz bottle for heavy work such as arch liners, engine bay and tyres, then a 1:50 spritz bottle for lighter interior trim duties. Tyres get the 1:5 treatment every other month, but I live down a country lane where the tyres can get very dirty.
