Goodwood

Post by N13LXC » Wed May 11, 2016 7:10 pm

Yo! Anyone making the trip to goodwood this year? I managed to score some comp tickets from audi with access to their orangery for tea, don't mind if I do...

Trying to decide whether to drive down or fly, hire a car and stay... Any suggestions or tips from regulars will be appreciated.

Iv been down a few times and am booked up for this year for 3 days, you'll struggle to book local accommodation this close to the event so may have a few miles to drive in. Also try and get in very early in the morning otherwise you'll cue for 2 hours to park!

It is though a great weekend and you'll really need 2-3 days to even walk around everything they have on let alone look in detail

Thanks for the tips!

Had a look at local accommodation, so knew it was out, but don't mind travelling a bit to get there. I have also heard getting out is tricky too, 2(ish) hours to get out...

Still waiting on the tickets coming through, so will decide on timing once I see what they are (might he single days).

Again, thanks for the tips!

I'm done with Goodwood for a bit. Parents sold their house 20 miles away from Goodwood last month, was a great base for trips to FoS and Revival. Honestly, even if you only have a small interest in classic stuff and the history of motorsport, go to the Revival

If you just have one drop of petrol in your head you gotta go, it will blow your mind, cool place, cool people, mega cars, mega bikes, yes it costs a few quid but its worth it, you will be required to walk a big bit, on sat/sun get there early no problems, leave by 4pm no problems, if it rains put wellies on, not good for high heels, tried it but not for me, k?nobs banned, ok seen maybe one or two, but mostly just people who respect cool cars and bikes in all forms.

It's a great weekend. I've won the same tickets for brunch on the Saturday. Luckily for me I'm only 45mibs away. I always use the top car park from the A272 much less queuing and easy exit at the end only problem could be if it rained really heavy. It's never rained enough in all the years I've been going to cause a problem. It's a great weekend.
Last year I got the tickets from my local Audi dealer which got me into the manufacturers enclosure plus onto the balcony of goodwood house. I felt like a king !!!!!
